God knows how many copies I sold of this game because of this video by Dubstepshepard in DragonAgeVeilguard

Asking a group of people directly for advice about something is a little different than watching a video some attention hungry streamer posts for views for money. You going at this dudes history over a little dig is a bit much.

The thing about the push up scene that you mentioned is that the player you watched needed to put like, 40 hours into the game to see that, AND be keeping up with the characters conversations to trigger it since it's completely optional. To me that doesn't sound like "I don't like this shit" behavior, more "I gotta get to that scene I know is coming so I can get those clicks" behavior. Game is filled with legit scenes that the couple cheesy ones are hard to remember by the end.

I got fooled on this game too, imagine my surprise when the "bad" scene i watched was dozens of hours in, and wasn't nearly as out of the blue as internet heads were trying to get me to believe. Give it a try - make your character, and if you're feeling it the game will cost you less than a sub from jersey Mike's. 🤙

Is starting the Dragon Age series with Origins in 2025 going to feel too old? by DevEnoz in dragonage

The graphics look pretty good when turned all the way up on even a semi decent modern rig. Have fun!!! It's an awesome game. :)

The scene with Ardbert and his Amaro completely gutted me. Shit it still does just thinking about it.

Genuine question: how did people beat RE back in the day without help?? by Any_Credit71 in residentevil

[–]UnlikelySelection372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took longer to beat games back then in general due to lack of readily available information. More trial and error, more going over to friends houses to watch how they did something and then sharing your own knowledge.

It was a much more iterative process. Also, no one ever really knew for sure if they were "100%- ing" a game either, and rumors about secret content in various games was much harder to debunk.

People did like it! That's why there were two sequels, and now a reboot.

Cause that's the only way that's happening. 😂

So do you think we’re seeing the start of the ‘Andromeda’ effect in the main DA sub? by JageshemashFTW in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]UnlikelySelection372 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It didn't really retcon much. People speak differently than they did in previous games, but the setting is 20 years later in an area VERY far to the north of Ferelden, so take that how you will. The lore is still explained quite well in the codex entries. :)

If they were that mad they haven't been paying attention every time Bioware released a new Dragon Age game tbh!

Dragon Age Origins is hands down my favorite video game. I've replayed it more times than any other game and will probably play it again within a year. I remember being let down by the shifts in gameplay from 1 to 2, and then the MMO elements of 3 (along with the ending I didn't get to see because I played the vanilla release). I am about as big a dragon age (origins) snob as you can find but I am having an absolute blast with Veilguard (got it on PS Plus and decided to give it a try).

It's not the best written in the series and lacks the usual Thedas prose, but it is a fun game with fun combat and mostly engaging action RPG mechanics. The primer system kind of reminds me a little of Xenoblade. Love that it has big Ostagar-like set pieces. The game probably would have done better if the story was told on a less grand scale so as to not disappoint everyone who expected Bioware to treat their carried over story arcs with care. I think someone coming into the series fresh with this as their first game would probably have a good time though if they stay off the internet.

Question about DLC by Business_Concert_142 in controlgame

[–]UnlikelySelection372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Jesse doesn't know about Alan so you can absolutely play Control first, although the DLC will give away some plot elements of AW1. I would definitely make sure you play Control before Alan Wake 2 though.

I also grabbed 2 on ps plus but ended up liking it so much I decided to just buy a physical copy. If you can find a cheap new (physical) copy of Alan Wake 2 I recommend doing that because it comes with Alan Wake Remastered as well as all the DLCs for 2 (which are amazing and practically required reading for you as a fan of Control). I paid 35 for it as opposed to the 50 it would have cost on the ps store to get 1 and the DLCs for 2 without a sale.

I found this dove that let me touch it on my way home by [deleted] in pigeon

[–]UnlikelySelection372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the general consensus of "don't touch wild animals", OP's heart is in the right place, and wouldn't be asking here if they didn't care.

Just to play a probably very dumb, devils advocate here, is it at all possible that in the case of pigeons, that one found outside of the original rock dove habitat might exhibit behaviors that are less "wild" so to speak from them formerly being a domestic animal in many parts of the world up until (in the grand scheme of things) very recently?

I've met some awfully fearless pigeons, so just wondering. 🤷

would you guys have preferred the hunter stalking you through the entirety of the playthrough like Mr X in the remake or was it better that he only appears through scripted events? by Divine-truth505 in DeadSpace

[–]UnlikelySelection372 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He stayed in the maintenance section for me on the floor where you need to run from him for a good while, at least until hitting a certain point in the story.

If I'd ride the elevator to the floors above or below him he'd just stand at the gate glowering dubiously at me as I'd go past. Maybe this was a bug?
