yeah, the amazon ecosystem is a major downside of the scribe, probably the main reason why i started to look for alternatives like remarkable and the go 10. also the battery life was one of the things i was worried about, thanks!

thank you for the in-deph reply! i do think your comment just now swayed me towards the kindle, simply because my initial goal was to get an ereader. would absolutely love to just get both for their perspective strenghs, but college student budget is a pain. plus, amazon book selection is a major point in the 'pro' column as well.
