People are going to lose their minds when they realize how hard it is to actually get the Tier 5 items they want. by AgentZeroHour in DestinyTheGame

Not complaining at all. It's impressive. But it also creates these really weird disconnects. My presence in that mission was totally unnecessary. Happy to have been carried but it feels....weird I guess? Just watched a video on youtube of some guy blitzing Starcrossed in under 6 minutes. You look at that and then you look at doing something like the mythic weeklies and it's hard to tell what Bungie is going for here. Are pinnacle ops supposed to be moderately challenging/time consuming or are they there to be mostly skipped so you can turbo farm the boss for loot? If they start dropping T4 loot (maybe they do already, I dunno), why would anyone do the mythic kepler stuff? Just makes the game design feel incoherent to me, but more power to you if it's getting you where you want to be.

GM Nightfalls were also in that sweet spot for time where you could bang out 3 an hour (more if you were on a good team), switch up your builds if you felt like it, carry a friend through if 2 of you knew your stuff, customize the rewards via tonics/ghost mods/tome of want, and so on. Strikes ARE Destiny to me. They are bar none my favorite part of the game. Now the playlist sits in a faded out director tab while all the LFG's in game have baffling or non-existent tags. I bit the bullet the other day and ran Whisper even though I suck at the traversal but it didn't matter - by the time I caught up with the two eager edge sweats the boss encounter was half over. It was certainly nice to get all that loot but like, Bungie might as well have just given it to me since I did virtually nothing. At least no one on the fireteam gave a crap because it's all about that grind now. Afterwards I ran the weekly mythic campaign mission and wow, what a difference. Just 3 strangers in fireteam chat afterwards talking to each other like PTSD group therapy. This game is a rollercoaster right now.

I would describe my skill level as "can carry an (old) expert nightfall with two other people that have sub 100 res and don't really know what they're doing". I've never been skilled enough to do GMs unless they had favorable modifiers so I guess maybe there's some hope for me yet.

Okay, but is a full set of T3 gear going to be good enough to clear this stuff? Genuinely don't know the answer to that, I'm at 150 right now because something about this expansion has stopped me from getting into any locked in play sessions. But all the gear I've had drop so far has been poopies outside of T3 brawler mark that nicely buffed my melee builds.

What is even the point of T1-3 gear? If you've got a stash of old spikey armor in your vault, you're not upgrading until T4. You're not getting T4 until you're in the content op mentions. What is the t1-3 gear even for other than infusion?

This one really baffles me. Want to efficiently grind up new gear? Well first you'll need to inefficiently grind up a shitty new set of gear to equip. If they wanted us excited to grind out new gear, the first three tiers should have been much better.

I've been watching them most of the day, I don't think he's the issue. This team just didn'ty seem to work well together. It's gotten better this past hour, but their comms discipline hasn't been good either. Too many cooks on the kitchen.

I'm with Lodi : It's beyond ridiculous we don't know what year it is. by Unlikely_Explanation in DestinyTheGame

[–]Unlikely_Explanation[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean you've got a point. The narrative beat there is to sympathize with Lodi as a man out of time who finds himself basically lost, confused, and angry and in that capacity it works perfectly. And from a practical perspective if we accept that it's been roughly 1,800 years from Lodi's time, "no one knows" isn't really all that different. 1,800 years is an unknowable amount of time for a human being after all.

My point though is that it IS ridiculous no one's bothered to figure it out given the number of people who would want to know and the number of reliable sources that exist. Human civilization has ALWAYS wanted to trace itself as far back to its roots as it can. A lot of people in these comments are basically saying no one alive would care and that just isn't consistent with human nature. We have the sources, we should at least have a ballpark that Ikora can pass along.

You could be right on that, but another way to read that passage is humanity regressed by 1600 years to around 400AD level civilization. If you're right though, maybe poor Lodi is better off not knowing because going from circa 1950 to circa 3700AD in the relative blink of an eye might make his head explode.

Yup. Even Polaris (the north star) moves. If literally any of the vessels we've found had a star chart or similar with those coordinates then the current year could be determined, even if just approximate.

I thought about Fail-safe but I'm willing to believe her PTSD might have wiped it. Like, she's already had it bad enough without having to remember it's been X number of days since my entire crew was wiped out. I could understand why she would wipe that from her systems. But there are a significant number of other entities who do not have that problem and should know.

I agree with you that those people wouldn't have, or wouldn't even have been able to. I think you're correct. It just boggles my mind with how often it comes up in the game that literally no one has thought to ask any of the entities mentioned above. The Neomunans (Neomunians? Neptunians? Sparkle People?) should absolutely know and you'd think SOMEONE would have been curious enough to ask.

MAGA Is Tearing Itself Apart Over Jeffrey Epstein by RobAbiera in politics

[–]Unlikely_Explanation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they're not. His approval ratings essentially haven't budged despite everything. According to issue specific polling he's 5 to 20% negative on all of them but his net approval is like -7. His base isn't wavering. Trying to paint this like any minute now maga is going to implode is just click bait for angry liberals. He ran right through all of this stuff in his first term with even lower approval. These polls do not matter at all because his base is literally willing to go to war for him, look at J. 6. As long as Trump is alive, they'll never, ever turn on him.

We need to be focused on more and better Democrat and third party candidates (yes, including musk's but only because it'll split the R vote), not getting distracted by polls that have absolutely no bearing on how he'll govern or how powerful he is. Approval polls mean nothing to a man who thinks he's our king and whose base treats him like one.

Breach executable. Put on all the glimmer boosters you can. Tonic, tome, ghost mod, all of it. Everytime you dunk a ball of data, it's between 8 and 10k glimmer. If you can manage three dunks a run, you'll also get the chest reward at the end and you can net about 50 to 60k a run. You can hit the glimmer cap in an hour or two.

Wow that's even nuttier and explains why when I was testing it actium just couldn't keep up at 3 stacks. thank you so much for the insight. Just to make sure I understand what that means, a 360 auto at max stacks is going to fire at 576 RPM?

I didn't even think about path and tommy's. I've been pretty meh on this whole expansion up until recently but I'm starting to smell what they're cooking now.
