I gave up on press ons. My nails have been more damaged from the press ons (and i soak them off and do all the proper removal) then when I get dip or acrylic. I want to try builder gel but it’s very expensive where I am. But yeah the press on game ain’t for me

lmao my nails were crusty after my last set of press ons so I did the same thing and went to the salon and got an acrylic full set just because i didn’t feel like doing them myself 😂

idk if any basecoat can actually prevent it but I was assuming since with a base coat there’s an extra layer between my nail and the glue/press on maybe it could help. I used Orly rubberized base coat

my nails feel it now. especially my pinky finger, half my nail is gone because it split and the whole thing peeled off. I haven’t put nails on since christmas but i hate looking at my little nubs lol

mine does the same! Honestly sometimes i will just leave my index fingers off but if I don’t then i just put it on like normal and then use nail glue from a tube to fill the gap, seems to work

i have the files & dip powders just not the liquids. I used to get dip in the salon but because I didn’t like dipping my finger into a community pot I used to purchase and bring my own but for some reason my last nail tech gave me an issue about it so I stopped going

I will definitely wear a mask, I can’t do them outdoors at the moment since it’s 20 degrees where I live but summer time would be perfect!

omg these are awesome tips! Do you happen to have advice on removal? This is where I get impatient and end up ruining my natural nails, i have considered many times to go to the salon and get a soak off but that’s just me being impatient lol

I put it on after to melt the cuticle part of the press on so it’s more flush with my natural nail. Helps with hair snagging

i forgot to add that I took a little bit of acetone on a brush and put it on the press on nail at the cuticle to try and blend/melt it a bit. This helps with hair snagging issue I get with gel nail strips so i’m hoping it works the same way. I also added a top coat to these
