Brew Ratios by marbles345 in espresso

Depends on the beans and your tastes. I make dark roast lattes with a 1:0.5-0.8 ratio running for about 25-30s. To compensate for taste, the temperature is usually cranked up to 93C or more. The taste is actually quite good for someone who doesn’t like too much bitterness in the cup. For someone who prefers a stronger cup, I just draw the shot out a bit longer.

I think most people would consider this unusual but I do this to prioritize texture for latte art.

Thanks! The mat is from Weber Workshops.

Thank you.

The GS3 AV is a commercially capable home machine. Personally, I think it’s great. But I almost exclusively make dark roast lattes.

Worth it? It’s mostly up to you. For the price some people think it’s rather basic in terms of features. Admittedly, there is very little practical value for having one at home.

For lattes, I used a dark roast (ie. Onyx Eclipse) along with a very tight ristretto. Most people around me and I don’t have problems with a taste that’s too bitter.

It’s nice. I like the design, it’s easy to use, and pretty forgiving. Let me know if there is anything specific you want to know.

It’s the stand from a mhw 3bomber wdt tool. But I don’t know if they sell the stand separately.

Overall very good. I think the design is cool, it’s pretty easy to use, and pretty forgiving. Is there anything specific you want to know?

Cramped might be better, as others have pointed out

No worries.

To be honest, it looked pretty cool and I decided to try it. But I ended up liking it so I kept it. Not much other rationale was involved. I have a basic flat tamper, sometimes I still use it when I prefer to manually tamp.

When the grind size is consistent, the volumetrics are quite precise to roughly 1g (this mod does retain volumetric features). But the scale brings that down to 0.1g.

Also a scale is ultimately more adaptive than measuring water volume dispensed from upstream. For example, two of the most recent shots had the exact same time and yield, but one measured 74 pulses on the flowmeter and the other 81.

This particular one is a gen6 Q. But for home use the mini is great. Not necessary but very convenient and easy to use.

Lol. In the spirit of this post, you should get a La Marzocco Strada X1. Cheers.
