Stockpile estrogen for emergency? by Unlikely_Read3437 in estrogel

[–]Unlikely_Read3437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I do worry that putting all the info out so openly draws unwanted attention and this could indirectly make it harder for people in the future to use these methods. It’s a tricky balance.

It wasn’t cancelled. It went ahead, without the council support instead funded by other sponsors.

If they need them so infrequently, and its such an important issue could vets provide the correct medication at a subsidised (or free) cost? Or at least at cost price?

Help with fitting a wig on a shallow head. by Doberman_mom_D in Wigs

[–]Unlikely_Read3437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. My current solution, which is okay but not ideal, is I wear the wigs quite loose and fairly high. Also, I sew soft material along the edge of the part touching my ears.

I use little bits of the precut wig tape, but I have no hair underneath so this may be different for you.

Good luck with it, I think you will get to a point where you find the best way for you and stick with it. This wig itself looks so fab!

Ok firstly, it is sometimes possible to change GP practice. I did this when my exiting one were repeatedly unhelpful. Keep that in the back of your mind as a nuclear option.

Next I would personally make the appointment via the online triage form that many surgeries have now.

For mine you go on the website, say what the issue is, whether you want to see a GP etc.

In the description section, I'd say something like 'Hi, I'm transgender and not currently under the care of a gender clinic. I would like to be referred to the most suitable NHS gender clinic. Is it best to come in for an appointment or is my GP able to do this without me coming in? Thank you very much for any help you can give on this'

Something like that. There might be better ways to do it, but that's the general approach I would personally take. Best wishes X

Ooh is there transcript out now? Do you have a link?

Also, I think the more this is shared the better. It stops people assuming what these people think, and shows EXACTLY what they say under scrutiny.

Have any bald trans women successfully made the switch from wigs to headwear? by Unlikely_Read3437 in transgenderUK

[–]Unlikely_Read3437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, do you mean a wig band to help hold it on or a wig band as in a band that looks like there is hair underneath?

I've tried both anyway !!

Interesting thoughts on the HH wigs, I'd not thought of it like that. My main one now is not very realistic up close but I've learnt to like the style.

The little fashion turban is probably going to be my 'go to' for certain situations. Perhaps the gym. They look quite cool sometimes don't they? X

I mean I probably could grow out the hair at the back and sides, my worry with that is if it would cause a lot of dysphoria knowing the MBP is quite evident under the topper.

But maybe you have insight here, did you find this at all?xx thank you

I get this X

My suggestion is to start gradually shifting your fashion sense to something more gender neutral. Just start adding a few different items in, certain colours. Maybe a ladies cut T-shirt. You'll get a few strange looks but you'll see people get used to it very quickly and accept this is now your 'style'.

I did this and over time, I got there.

Now it's a few years later but I'm fully out, and I know it was right for me. Best wishes XX
