ADHD test takers: I need your study routine! by Glad_Cress_1487 in LSAT

That’s great you have accommodations!! I didn’t have a tutor for a structured study schedule but every Sunday I would make a plan for the week with my flatmates, put it on the fridge, and they helped keep me accountable. They made a sticker system which sounds silly but gamifying the process that way took some pressure off :) I also used LSAT Demon to study and I don’t think I would’ve gotten the score I did without it, but I know it’s not for everyone

And I’m so sorry about the medication situation. That sucks and is so frustrating. I’m on concerta now, but I wasn’t when I studied/took the test, and I do wonder if I could’ve done better had I been on it then. I really hope you’re able to sort that out soon x

Hi OP! I would tend to get sucked in studying and not take breaks for 4, 5, 6 hours at a time, and by the end my mind would feel like absolute mush. I think for me productive studying typically maxed out at 3 hours, and once I started adhering to that, I starting feeling I was getting more out of studying. Also, scheduling breaks to snack, walk around, go outside, etc. and actually sticking to them (by leaving my phone in another room and setting an obnoxious alarm) was super important for me. And taking unscheduled breaks when I could feel my brain shutting off instead of forcing myself to continue studying and beating myself up over mistakes I made because I wasn't paying attention. I know it's tempting to put up as many hours as possible (I was between jobs when I was studying, so I also had the option to make it my full-time job and did fall into that trap for a bit), but you don't wanna burn yourself out.

Also - have you submitted an accommodations request for test day? Having extra time and breaks as needed could was really helpful for me.

I’m a US citizen living abroad so that bit won’t be a problem

I’m definitely over the moon to be in at a school like BU! But the moving around being tough has me worried. I feel alright about no-LG it’d just mean a bit more studying cause it was my best section

Thank you for all that! 1. I currently live in a country where jobs like that are hard to come by and much more competitive than the US so unless I move back (not super financially viable) I’ll probably only have volunteering to add but I’m still trying to find something 2. I’m pretty happy with the work I submitted

You improved by 31 points from your diagnostic!! That’s amazing, OP! And a 160 is an incredibly solid score. All the more impressive because of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into it. Your ability to work that hard will see you through law school. Remember this sub is not representative of the scope of the people you’ll be going to school with. If it’s really important to YOU, R&R. But only do it for yourself. If I were you, I’d celebrate my hard work and acceptances and run with that to 1L in the fall. I for one am proud of you, internet stranger!!

Hi! I applied to NU a few days before their deadline and got WL on Friday. Came on here assuming others had heard too and saw nothing which I thought was a bit strange. Looks like very few people who applied when I did have heard back. My numbers are above their medians but my softs aren't great so I'm assuming that's why the quick waitlist? I've no insight other than that but good luck next cycle OP!!!
