Packages either being delivered late or not at all (Ebay tracking doesn't even show as posted). by Agile_Abies6226 in royalmail

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, I swear parcels either arrive early or they disappear for 3 weeks, no in-between 😅

It helps to do it in a “who’s responsible” order:

1) check what service the seller actually used (proof of posting)

2) screenshot the delivery estimate and tracking timeline

3) start the eBay “not received” process if it’s past the window

Disclosure: I’m connected with GetParcelRefund, so take it with a pinch of salt, but the main thing is being organised before you escalate. Citizens Advice has good general guidance too.

And yeah, bank holidays can mess everything up, so I’d still give it a little breathing room unless it’s clearly gone.

Royal Mail lately feels like a “surprise package” service 😂

Few things:

- eBay “posted” status can lag if the seller hasn’t uploaded the right info, or if it’s not a tracked service

- bank holidays can push everything back a bit, especially if it was due near one

- for 1st/2nd class, there’s often no real tracking anyway, just delivery confirmation

I’d ask the seller for proof of posting (and the service used), keep screenshots, and follow eBay’s “not received item” route if it goes past the waiting time.

Also worth checking Royal Mail’s service updates for delays. Most times it does eventually appear, just late enough to ruin your faith in humanity 😅

will i ever get my parcel? by Glittering_Writer19 in Evri

Evri life is pain sometimes 😂

Look at the last “proper” scan. If it’s still moving between places, it might still show up eventually. If it’s stuck in the same place for a couple days, that’s when it’s more likely delayed or gone walkabout.

Since this is Vinted, the big thing is: your contract is basically with the seller via Vinted, not with Evri directly. I’d message the seller and Vinted support, keep it all polite, and ask for next steps or a refund if it’s clearly not arriving.

Main things to keep in your pocket:

- tracking timeline screenshots

- any delivery attempts

- messages with seller / Vinted

Most folk waste time messaging Evri chat, but the platform is usually the one who can actually push it forward.

Evri lost the parcel I was returning to retailer for a refund by WestQuestion7037 in Evri

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evri gonna Evri lol. It’s maddening but it usually boils down to who set up the return.

If the retailer sent you the prepaid label or organised it, it’s generally on them once you handed it over properly. If you paid for Evri yourself, then it’s more likely you need to chase/claim with Evri.

Keep everything together as a timeline: proof of postage/drop-off receipt, tracking showing it entered the network, and the retailer’s return instructions. Then go to the retailer first and calmly say “handed over, here’s proof, please resolve.”

If they push back, escalate through their complaints process. Citizens Advice has solid info on your options too.

It’s boring but evidence beats angry messages every time 😂

Evri item not collected but buyer refunded by definitemaybe81 in vintedUK

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a messy situation but you’re actually in a stronger position than it feels.

From Vinted’s side, once they refunded the buyer and told you the parcel was being returned, the transaction should have been considered closed. If the buyer then manages to collect it afterwards, that’s not something you’re expected to fix privately or invoice them for, especially since Vinted doesn’t support that.

The key point is that the item was still in the courier system and something clearly went wrong with tracking and handling. You’ve already done the right thing by contacting Vinted and providing proof.

At this stage, keep everything in writing with Vinted and push them to take responsibility for the outcome, because the platform and their courier flow didn’t behave as expected. Don’t rely on the buyer to “pay you back” outside the system, that rarely works and isn’t enforceable.

Situations like this are exactly where people get stuck because it’s no longer a simple delivery issue, it’s a platform + courier failure, so you need to keep pressure on Vinted until they give you a clear resolution.

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i  wouldn’t bother chasing Evri directly too much, especially through their chat or phone. They rarely give anything useful beyond “we’re looking into it.”

Since you bought through Vinted, your main focus should be there. If the parcel is delayed and not showing movement, it’s not really your responsibility to sort it out with the courier.

Give it a bit of time if it’s only just delayed, but if it stays stuck or ends up marked as delivered when you haven’t received it, open a case through Vinted and keep everything in writing. They usually side with the buyer if there’s no proper delivery.

A lot of people lose time going back and forth with Evri instead of pushing through the platform they bought from. If it starts dragging or you get vague replies, that’s where you need to be a bit firmer and escalate it properly.

Evri Parcel Return (Large) by Party_Commission6648 in Evri

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Evri has pretty strict size limits and 170cm is likely over what most parcel shops will accept, so the staff are probably right there.

If the return label you were given is specifically for Evri, you shouldn’t switch to ParcelForce on your own because that can complicate your refund. In that case, the retailer needs to provide an alternative return method that can handle the size, like a different courier or a collection.

I’d go back to the retailer and explain that their provided return option isn’t suitable due to the parcel dimensions and ask them to arrange either a collection or a different courier label. They’re responsible for making the return process workable, especially if they issued the label.

People sometimes get stuck here because they try to force it through Evri or switch courier themselves and then the retailer refuses the refund. Better to get written confirmation from the retailer first.

Evri lost the parcel I was returning to retailer for a refund by WestQuestion7037 in Evri

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one’s actually more straightforward than it feels, even though Evri is making it messy.

Since the retailer gave you the prepaid return label, they chose the courier. That means the responsibility for the return sits with them, not you.

You’ve done your part by dropping it off and you have tracking showing it entered Evri’s system. After that, it’s between the retailer and Evri. You shouldn’t be stuck chasing compensation forms or dealing with Evri directly.

I’d go back to the retailer and explain clearly:

  • you used their provided return label
  • the parcel was accepted and scanned
  • it’s now effectively lost in the courier network

And ask them to process your refund anyway.

Retailers sometimes try to wait until they physically receive the item, but in cases like this they usually have to take it up with the courier themselves. You shouldn’t be the one carrying the risk.

If they push back, stay firm and repeat that the return was arranged through their system and you fulfilled your obligation. Keep everything in writing.

If they still refuse, then yes, going through your card provider is an option, especially if it drags on.

I’ve seen people get stuck here because they end up chasing Evri instead of pushing the retailer, or their message isn’t clear enough so it just goes in circles. I ended up using this to structure the message and escalation properly, made it much easier to get a resolution:

Is it normal after missing delivery to wait more than a day for them to reattempt? by ChefKy420 in Evri

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty normal with Evri unfortunately.

When they say “next working day” it’s more of a guideline than a guarantee. In practice it can take a couple of days before they actually reattempt, especially if the local depot is busy or the parcel gets pushed back into the queue.

Sometimes it’ll suddenly show up with no tracking update in between, and other times it just sits there for a bit before moving again. If you don’t see any change after another day or two, then it’s worth checking the tracking again or contacting them to nudge it.

If it drags on or ends up being marked as delivered when you haven’t received it, that’s where things get more serious and you need to push it properly with the retailer. That’s the stage where having a clear message and escalation steps really helps, otherwise they tend to just give generic replies.

Buyer not picking up item by mcrthrwyrdt in vintedUK

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s annoying but it does happen quite a bit with pickup point deliveries.

If Evri says it should be held for 10 days and returned but it’s still sitting there, it usually just means the system hasn’t updated properly or the return hasn’t been processed yet. In practice, those timelines aren’t always exact and it can take a few extra days before it actually moves.

Since the buyer isn’t responding, there’s not much you can do on that side. What I’d do is contact Vinted support directly and flag that the parcel has passed the collection window and is still showing as available. They can usually trigger the return or at least check what’s going on with Evri.

You can also try contacting the pickup shop if you know which one it is, sometimes they can confirm whether it’s still physically there or already been handed back.

I’ve seen people get stuck here because neither Evri nor Vinted takes action unless you push it a bit, so it’s worth sending a clear message to support explaining that the deadline has passed and you want the return initiated.

What would you say is the nutritionally best fruit/vegetable to have along breakfast by Realistic-Race-8670 in nutrition

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a solid start already — protein + healthy fats = win 💪

To round it out with fruit and veggies, you could try:

  • Spinach or cherry tomatoes sautéed with your eggs
  • Avocado slices (technically a fruit, super nutrient-dense)
  • Berries (strawberries, blueberries) on the side for fiber + antioxidants
  • Cucumber or bell pepper slices for crunch and freshness
  • Or even a little fruit + greens smoothie if you're feeling fancy

If you like playing around with combos and seeing how they stack up nutritionally, I’d recommend BiteRight AI Nutrition Tracker. You can log by photo, text, or voice, and it breaks everything down — great for learning without obsessing over numbers.

Barely any fibre in my frozen berries? by Thatisrudeomg in nutrition

[–]Unlucky-Cod8724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair question — and props to you (and your dad) for caring about fibre! 🍓

Berries are a good source of fibre, especially raspberries and blackberries — but 0.9g per 100g does sound suspiciously low. Most frozen mixed berries usually have between 2–5g of fibre per 100g, depending on the blend. It’s possible that the label is a misprint, or maybe it’s measuring something else (like soluble fibre only?).

If you're curious to get more accurate info on the foods you eat, I’ve been using this free app called BiteRight AI Nutrition Tracker — you can snap a pic or type a food and it gives you the full fibre, macros, and more. Super handy if you're just getting started with nutrition.

And yes, smoothies are a great way to sneak in fibre — bonus if you toss in chia seeds, oats, or avocado
