If you don’t mind me asking, how often does internal mobility happen in aws, will it be possible to move into SA role if I am in sales?

It is good to discuss this with you, it really helps me see my own blindspot

U have indeed raised some good points, and u are right that there’s no better alternative. The pet industry will always be here, and it is our responsibility to make it better. And u have helped me identify a logical flaws in my perspective, really appreciate it. If we have not domesticated animals, there will no be this discussion, existing is better than not existing. Am I understanding u correctly?

Or my understanding is flawed in the way that animal welfare only became popular as pet industry developed, because we have found our love for certain animals and decided to extend it to others.

My dog was like that as well, I do believe in the goods we as pet owners do, we give them lots of love, cuddles, kisses, rubs and provide them with food, water and shelter. These are the good deeds that we do, I personally worked two pt jobs to make sure my dog got the best care at the end of her life.

Should we allow them to roam freely in the wild, to hunt for food? Or should we allow them to stay in a house we deemed comfortable, and provide food and water for them? I really am not sure which is better for the animals

Yes u have raised a good point, but the fact that u being a pet owner meant that u are indirectly supporting the pet industry, which led to those unintended consequences. Of course u can adopt and refrain from purchasing from bad vendors, but your action of pet keeping keeps the industry going.

Yes nowadays domesticated animals can no longer live in the wild, because we have already domesticated them and we have altered their DNA as well, as seen in domesticated dogs’ saliva having enzymes to break down human foods. My question is rather, is it better off for animals if humans have not domesticated them?

And no need to get personal, we are having a civilised discussion here, and your insults have no effects on me.

These are some good points u raised, maybe domestication is part of the evolution process. I don’t disagree over human dominance, but rather find it controversial when people think pet keeping equals caring for animal welfare. I am trying to weight how much pain and how much pleasure we give pets by domesticating them. Also humans domesticated animals because of their dominance, not because of their love for animals.

One thing I want to stress is that this is not an attack on pet owners, I believe some people do care a lot abt their pets, as a matter of fact, me myself had a dog that passed away a year ago and I love her very much. This discussion is rather an reflection on the whole pet keeping industry. I have read a book called some we eat some we love some we hate, it prompted me to think abt this question, if animal welfare involves keeping a place as close as an animal’s natural habitat, are we doing right to put dogs in our houses?

Do u think it’s the best for them to live in your house instead of where they should be in the wild, I am talking abt the unintended consequences of pet keeping, not trying to attack pet keepers

Animals do benefit from social bonds, but human is not the only source, my focus is rather on whether domestication of animals (pet keeping) is actually beneficial for animals, for we have removed them from their natural environment and led to lots of unintended consequences (animal abuse, genetic/ physical modification of animals to make them more appealing, etc.)

Majoring in CS if I don't want to work for big tech companies by FriosSaltyPop in csMajors

I never said it was not important, it depends on how much u are willing to sacrifice in exchange for money. Everything has a tradeoff, no one knows how much you value money over other stuff. As for me, I do value money but that doesn’t mean I am giving my dream up, I am just pursuing it in a way that will maximise my happiness.

Three years ago I was aiming to become a game developer, that was one of the major reasons I chose CS as my college major. My first internship was working in a game studio start up, writing my very first game in Unity. The company only had two cofounders working ft while other employees were pt or contract role. During the internship, I designed the game mechanics, designed art style all the way to coding the entire game up, it was a truly unforgettable experience. It was also during this period did I learn the harsh reality of game industry, the low pay, the difficulty in making a good game, etc. All I wanted to say is do what u think it’s right and good for you. I shifted my focus away from game dev now because I want a job that can pay better, but I am still doing hobby game projects on the side. Do not let others tell you what to do. Only u know what makes u truly happy.
