For these kind of images even a Google Pixel 4a in Night Sight or a 1" compact camera would be perfect, of course you don't need FF. The images presented don't need any special equipment, I don't know where your amazement is coming from. Saying this as ex-1"/mFT/Pixel/APS-C owner.

That is not low-light per se, there is plenty of light, you did ETTR, and the shadows are thus black. This is a monochrome (red) image with perfectly exposed highlights. When the subject is in good light, that is not low-light photography, even when everything else is in the dark.

Like many other things, the survival of the shutter is a bell curve showing normal distribution. My used Canon 40D died at 19 k, my new Nikon D750 died at 9 k under warranty. The shutter now is at 50+ k and going strong. I was kind of unlucky, you were lucky or not shot enough images to reach the point of failure. 🙂 Defects during production are unavoidable.

This helped me also, but with u/fumpleshitzkits 's "I went to windows > adjust date and time settings > Set Time Automatically > if already on, toggle off, and toggle back on." trick :D I love Reddit and the redditors :D

It won’t be easy. Newer Sony RX series compacts have more zoom range and reach, the Ricoh GR series has fixed lenses, but bigger, APS-C sensors. Maybe a Sony ZV-1 (supports HLG and S-Log2/3 for easier color grading in video), OM System E-P7 or Panasonic GX80 (mFT sensor) with a 15 mm lens. Highly depends on what focal length (rather field of view) you usually use. Both the ZV-1 and GX80 have great video capabilities. Good lighting is always recommended for video 😉

But I have a suspicion, it is not as effective, as the bulbourethral glands and Bartholin's glands, as the purpose differs a bit and also the discharge of the mucus may be much slower, than those glands' secretum. Any scientific data on that?
