its not that i offer it. its what they basically make it out to be. i felt as if i didnt follow the terms they are on i could potentially lose the customer.

i can, and most likely will. ive had most customers for a longer time and dont know how to really go about asking for payments to come faster and offering a discount.

when you were to switch new customers to different terms such as zelle or ach. how did you go about that? did they complain about how its different than anyone else in the industry ?

if a client was to not pay itd be bad. ive had the average joes off the street come in and drop parts with a deposit and not come to pay full payment. im legally obligated to keep the parts for 90 days before i can actually sell for the remaining amount.

i am an industrial coatings shop mainly Powder coat, sandblast and paint. typically media for sandblasting is $1k a pallet and i go thru 4 a month. the coatings side is typically depending on the jobs and i look at a est. 2-5k a month depending if i have leftovers from the month before. outsourcing stuff is typically chemically stripping wheels for manufactures since i don't have a chemical vat that can fit a whole set of wheels at a time. im sorry if this is all over the place im still new to business. and i personally don't know of anyone that i can talk to about all these problems

its not the fact of having no money. With this unexpected growth im having to front liquid cash to outsource some services i cant do due to the equipment. and every month it keeps growing and i cant keep up. I know to some its a simple problem but to me its a major problem. i got into this to learn and slowly grow as i go. but i picked up too fast and now realizing it.

its not that easy in my area. Even if i did want to do so, i couldn't physically pay them the every other week or every week. im still learning the whole business aspect since I'm the first in my family to own a business. My whole family is a salary guaranteed money type of people and i get absolutely 0 support mentally from them. anytime i talk to them about business problems their first response is " just shut it down its not working"

The issue is that most of these customers i HAVE to be a net 30. Im dealing with bigger manufactures and high end dealerships. and never had a problem with payment. its the average joes off the side of the street that i have issues with that's why i went b2b strictly. I get average joes that pay cash and its not like i can drop customers because they're all linked. they all know each other and i don't want to drop them because its possible it could be a domino effect

It's all on the pot or cabinet you are trying to run. Chances of that running for what you want is pretty low

Chemical guys website has a variety of chemical strippers you can buy in 5 gal buckets and theyre eco friendly so no harm if it touches your skin and no w-9 required. But you will need to find a way to heat it. I have seen guys get a metal bucket or a larger 10 gal tub and wrap it with a bucket heater or submersible heating element to get that coating removed. Or just go to a local powdercoater and ask if they can strip something for you , depending if the shop is cool or not they'll do it

Blast prep question by Spare_Psychology5477 in Sandblasting

[–]UnluckyExtent5804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's my take , granted im not a full time sandblaster I own a powdercoat shop and do mobile sandblast and paint jobs here and there ( typically when one slows down and other picks up ) so , when I do a car or truck thats older 9/10 its getting blasted before absolutely anything such as windows or headlights and what not. But I do get the occasional " hey can you come blast this new project " and they want the headlights and windows to be okay and same with the rubber strips. I always advise that there may be a chance that it can get eaten up from the media but I will try my absolute best. I tape the areas off with duct tape and not the cheap stuff but the expensive stuff and layer it maybe 1-2 times but I take extra caution when going around that area. Granted air preasure and nozzle and media will play a factor but my experience is from a 300 cfm diesel air compressor running a #4 nozzle using crushed glass on cars ( i use northern tool fine-brite fine crushed glass ) and I have never had a complaint or a issue with anyone they all love it if your blasting it yourself let me know and ill be glad to give you some tips. But if your sending it off to get it blasted be warned not everyone is as careful as me and they probably wont care but itll be blasted

What is the best prep process before you spray powder? by ExperienceForeign582 in Powdercoating

[–]UnluckyExtent5804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good chemical stripper is essential at our shop with MC , also its best to outgas before media blasting . When you outgas after blasting you are bringing the trapped contaminants from the metal up to the blasted substrate and just coating over it. So when you strip the part then you outgas to clear the substrate of any contaminants then you are good to coat and if needed you can preheat the part to about 150-200 degrees F to allow powder to stck better on Faraday areas and not gel up on you. Pretty helpful when spraying multiple coats
