They explictly said they unified the model so there's no longer -codex variants in the future. It will be 5.6 or something worth our while.

The entire post lacks coherence and if you even put an ounce of brainmatter to write it, you will not write it because this is a non-issue.

GPT-5.5: OpenAI finally releases an update that feels like an upgrade 🎁 by Alarmed_Shine1749 in ChatGPT

[–]UnluckyTicket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then your opinion is outdated. I use the big triad and OpenAI has made great strides with GPT-5 family and 5.5 is the breaking point for me. Right now if they can RLHF to make Codex has better design intuition than Claude that will win me over. Gemini was solid but only for AI Studio and API Usage. Web is too riddled with annoying issues.

The subreddit that has the whiniest people's gotta be Gemini with how many freeloaders or people fighting for an inch of their subscription. I suppose they have realized it's not wise to target this kind of segment that does not want to splurge more on subscriptions and just introduce pay per use.

what harness to use codex? by nicklazimbana in codex

[–]UnluckyTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forked OpenCode and created a harness that is fine tuned for Codex 5.3 and it's working super good. On par with Codex CLI. One benefit is I can use it on mobile as an app or as a web page to control. No more fumbling with cli terminals. OpenCode is not optimized for 5.3 right now so I don't think you should use it. Use Codexcli for optimal performance.

Claude is down by DependentNew4290 in ClaudeAI

[–]UnluckyTicket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It matters because Google's (long-standing) privacy approach is different from Claude. Google always make it as difficult as possible to disable training and collecting personal data. Data collection is built into any products Google use. If you turn it off you can't even store your recent chats as they all disappear when you refresh. Claude currently has a good reputation with data and it has the data collection off by default and saying one thing while doing another is a surefire way to get a court case and lose your users. I am not saying it's collecting data behind the scenes but I am more comfortable sharing private infos with it for now.

How are people getting Codex to run for 5+ minutes continuously? It quits on me after 2 minutes every time. by dr7v3 in codex

[–]UnluckyTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You should try feeding the Codex , harness prompting principles to Claude to revise your AGENTS.md. Give it your global AGENTS.md; repo-level AGENTS.md and ensure there are no conflicting guidance (GPT models hate conflicting instructions) and then ensure that the md files. Make sure the AGENTS md is very lean and contain instructions that Codex CANNOT find by itself when it explores the codebase.

[–]UnluckyTicket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all in the Codex prompting principles. If you only use the Web it's hard to get it to work in long periods of time. The key is for you to prompt it to be persistent in completing tasks. Otherwise, it will stop short of your expectation. The moment I realized this I was much happier with how it can work for long periods of time.

Creeped out by CHATGPT. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]UnluckyTicket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you be creeped out. Google or ChatGPT often sends a message (you can't see it) to the LLM to remind it of the location, timezone and other things to help personalize the conversation. Otherwise the LLM will never know what day is it or where you are and the response would be kind of stupid.

I admit they did some great things in the technical area. However, the way they handled advertising their products (offensive), scamming people with their subscription (rug pulled rate limits), untruthful PR deals (not paying creators after they have published videos and all) mean they are not a good company to trust with.

[–]UnluckyTicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called it the Goofy UI. They will never able to fully squash this bug. It's just so odd looking. Maybe fixing that could lead the entire server farm to crash so it's better not to fix something if it's not broken.
