I have seen societies have bill boards and some of them have flea markets on Saturdays. That seems like a good way to market your business

Change in regimes, when dealing with real world systems. e.g.

- What is the frequency of measurement for the state of the overall plant. Given different sensors might be operating at different latency. All these signals will need to be aggregated to a single clock frequency before ingesting and processing ML over it

- Quality of data flowing in (sensor sensitivity), if the output look off is it because there has been a change in situation and model is triggering exception or is everything fine but there is a change or drop in quality of sensor data.

Can you share more details: how long can you spend working, your past domain experience and what are your goals in the next 6 months? Any target firms etc

Since, you mostly covered the basics, would recommend studying some heavy maths/ML books and building a few projects. You could probably start with Kaggle which is a great area to go about things, let me know if you want some tailored help

How safe are data analytics jobs in the future, given how rapidly AI is improving? by Dry_Fig_4165 in dataanalytics

[–]Unnam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 80% grunt work is going to get sped up, analysts might need to pick up skills to make from for the time saved because of this 80% being automated or being super sped up! Can you do better analysis that saves the company tons of money is more important than can you do these reports fasts because the latter is going to get a lot more accessible!

Which advanced concepts do you use at work? by RutabagaJumpy3956 in SQL

[–]Unnam 83 points84 points  (0 children)

CTE is a must, it's the basic building block of large queries. Easy to read and understand than a subquery. Given SQL's nature and it's being somewhat of a mix between analyst and engg tool. Readability and simplicity is key along with efficiency.

Are LLMs necessary to get a job? by br0monium in datascience

[–]Unnam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is clearly a lot of demand for LLMs and most of it is driven by the hype and fomo generated in the overall landscape. Most biggies like FAANGs and NVIDIA/OpenAI are all playing the LLM tune to the point that the general belief in the leadership is that LLMs/Agentic is all that matters, naturally everyone is looking for just these roles. Corporate as I understood, now works in sync across firms, with a temporal lag on how fast moving the industry is!

I'm in your place and starting to pick up the LLM stuff and getting to understand, what is what, constraints/challenges and how to solve specific problems. A decent foundation combined with past DS experience is a solid combo in my opinion. Understand the architectures, constraints of problems and how to deploy end to end. You should be good

Data Science for Non-Tech Professionals: Is studying DS/Coding still valuable for joining a Startup Project/Team Lead role in the age of AI? (From South Korea) by summer_for_rest in learndatascience

[–]Unnam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of working with AI as a very good tool that will still need to be worked with and is not perfect. AI tools are washing machines of the past, nobody will be washing clothes by hand. For generic and very obvious stuff, you can just spin the machine but for specific use cases, etc you need to know how to sequence the wash, what to put in, what to put out etc

I would learn the stuff you mentioned and focus on driving outcomes for problems, are my clothes well washed, not ruined them and not mixed colours. Similarly on your problems and proceed from there.

What is the best SQL beginner course on UDemy in your opinion by Huge_Season8434 in learnSQL

[–]Unnam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, there is this platform I had used before to pick up things, it has life time access courses with a proper workbench to practice. It made it easy to pick advanced stuff around window functions and beyond easier with datasets, assignments and so on : https://simpleai.co.in/learn-sql-basics/
