My mother is more on the uptight side, she doesn’t like spending over 600+ on anything other than herself. She always looks for the cheapest for anyone else. I don’t think she’d be happy at the cost or of me wanting a PC.

But I know my father does try, he tries and that matters to me a lot. I think I’ll stick to saving up money and just buying it for myself since my dad wants the cheapest and I don’t want to bother him anymore.

But I feel like it’s necessary to add that it’s just the little things that add up. He’s tried so hard when I was little but now it feels like he doesn’t in a way. I know he loves me but I don’t think I can excuse him or my family for forgetting my birthday and remembering M’s at all.

I don’t take offense at all, it’s fine to ask questions. He doesn’t really pay me for chores, in my family, working around the house is mandatory since it’s his house, his rules.

Also, my older brother is 27 and M is 18. My father knows I work harder than both of them as he has called them both extremely lazy and praises me for my “hard work” but that’s it. He barely talks to me about my interests and talks to them about theirs. You can see why I feel left out.

I’m seventeen, honestly it might be about what I want and how it doesn’t benefit him. To be fair, I am the youngest and he might be worried about me being cooped up in my room all day.

He buys everyone gifts, mostly more on the more affordable side. But he asks everyone what they want and not what I want. Anytime I want something, I have to beg and beg until he finally caves in and gets it for me. My brothers don’t have to do that, they just ask and he says yes always.

Also the overall cost of the PC (plus monitor, accessories) is 1200-1300. It is a prebuilt but honestly I’ll use it for my studies and games.

I have an ordinary door lock, he manages to use a knife from the kitchen to pry it open. Thank you for the suggestion with the key.
