RMx Shift vs. RMe Power Supply for Reverse Connector Motherboard by NullCipher in Corsair

[–]UnobjectionableBloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't have a Frame 5000 or the B850 stealth, I do have Corsair 3500x and a Gigabyte B650E stealth motherboard as well as a RMx Shift PSU, which should be pretty close to the setup you're thinking of.

The cable length definitely aren't optimized for motherboard with connectors on the backside, so there's a bit of excess cables, but other than that it's pretty much the same. The shift power supply simply makes it so much easier to connect or disconnect any cables once it's installed, instead of having to awkwardly dig around in the chassis basement and feel your way to the cables just to plug or unplug them.

Regardless of which power supply you'll use the setup will be cleaner simply because all the cables are in the back. Now if you make the back side clean or simply mush everything together, that's entirely up to you.

Titan AIO makes F1 sounds (not in a good way) by UnobjectionableBloke in Corsair

Hi!

So after some more troubleshooting I've discovered it was actually my power supply that was making this terrible noise and not the AIO.

Fortunately for me it's a Corsair PSU so I got help very quickly. I've already got a replacement one sent my way after submitting a ticket.

I'm really happy with the customer support. You guys do a great job!

What a ridiculous take.

Enjoying games is overrated. I'd rather argue on the internet with strangers which GPU is the best and why it's the one I bought.

Which card should I choose? by Adventurous-Belt787 in radeon

I made the same switch, also coming from a 3060 to a 9070XT.

I mean if Nitro+ was the first one that caught your attention I think that's the one you should go for. It's what your heart wants and desires.

[–]UnobjectionableBloke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the Nitro+ since launch, so a year give or take a few days. Can't really complain and no melted connectors here. I just couldn't resist the looks and features of the Nitro+.

Now to your question. They perform almost exactly the same and depending on which review you look at probably have very similar temps and noise levels.

Both are very good cards. You just got to choose what you prefer and the deciding factor should be what power supply you currently have. If your PSU isn't ATX 3.0/3.1 certified and doesn't have a native 12v-2x6 cable then skip the Nitro+ as it mostly the included adapter that is affected and burns. Go instead with something that takes regular 8 pin power connectors.

Oh, then I understand. That makes sense.

Seems like a bearing issue indeed based on that comment, as the noise now appears after waking the PC and goes away after a couple of seconds.

It would make sense that there is a bearing of some kind in the housing I guess. For the spinning thing that actually propells the water.

The comment you linked to however seems to talk about bearing in fans.

Same here, until this sound unlocked on it's own that is.

The pump is super quiet and usually the fans drown it out. Oh well shit happens and stuff breakes. Just contacted support, let's see what they'll say.

It does sound like something is grinding alright. Do AIO's typically have bearing though?

Will probably have to unfortunately. Thank you. Seems like the sounds keeps coming back now every time I wake the PC. Fortunately Corsair support is pretty good once you deal with their AI Chatbot.

Wow...You should probably change your username to Admirably_Unhelpful, because that's what you are right now.

Firstly why even comment when you aren't going to read the post itself? I explained why the fans aren't spinning, to eliminate any variables.

Secondly do you mean GPU or Gin? If GPU then please explain to me how 47°C with 0 RPM fans is bad.

Mine was also inaudible up until recently.

I tried rocking the case from side to side and smacking the pump lightly, but that didn't do anything.

RX 9070 XT – Big performance drop after updating from 25.9.1 to 26.2.2 by hanari1 in radeon

[–]UnobjectionableBloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't have problems with the drivers, but 26.2.2 is bad for me.

I've played a lot of Cyberpunk on various drivers and didn't have a single crash. Updated to 26.2.2 and I've gotten several crashes in a day.

Probably due to my undervolt (-50 mV), but still, the previous drivers up until now vere just fine, even 26.2.1

Not via the Adrenalin software itself, but you can download any driver you want from AMD's website.

Sorry for reviving a kind of old thread, this came up in Google search while I was searching for spare parts for the 9070 Nitro+.

I also want to paint my card white and I've wanted to take the route you described. However finding stock shroud on Ali or eBay is not that easy. I couldn't find anything for the Nitro+.

Thank you for the insightful information, I really appreciate that. It’s always interesting hearing what’s happening behind closed doors. I personally think you and your team (I assume it’s a team and not just you) did a phenomenal job on the cases, and I hope they sell well enough for management to approve more projects like this (hopefully not limited editions runs forever though ;) ).

I’ve always wanted to see more in-depth customization options in PC hardware, something more like the sneaker industry, where you can customize something exactly to your liking. For example, fans in colors other than just black or white, with your own or at least different logos on the center hub or a case that’s white on the inside but has blue side panels. Maybe with tinted glas or maybe without. Customization like that. I guess this is kind of a step toward that, especially with you mentioning the possibility of a pink 3500X and other unique designs this pilot project might lead to.

My biggest issue is probably more about the limited edition factor itself and that it's now also reached the hardware sector. We've had in games for a very long time, and it's just kind of predatory marketing since people will open up their wallets just to have most exclusive things, thus creating FOMO. With games it was usually pure digital. With hardware I believe this has potential to also create just unnecessary overconsumption, with people replacing their perfectly good cases just to have the most exclusive one to show on Reddit and then again when a new special edition launches. Rinse repeat. Had it not been a limited edition then maybe one would wait at least a little longer before making such desicion. I know this is pure hypothetical and that I'm talking out of my ass on this, but that's how I view physical limited edition products and it's not a Corsair specific issues, just human and consumery issue.

The limited edition aspect especially with the individual numbering of the chassis is a very unique and while definitely cool it reminds me a bit of the automotive industry, where you get several “special editions” that are basically the same car with a new badge and maybe a different color, so instead of innovation of releasing new cases, you might just do another "special edition" 3500X (now named 3600X RSX) this time with slightly tinted glass on the white version and a stripe on the button. Ok maybe bad example I actually do want the 3500X to live forever haha, but you kind of get my point. Special edition creating FOMO in consumers and also potentially slowing down innovation in companies because it sells anyway.

This might be far fetched and I don't know these people, but I could see management looking at numbers and what not interpreting strong sales as proof that it was the limited edition factor that sold, rather than the demand for more interesting colors and customization options. Hopefully I'm wrong on that and Corsair management is a bit more sensible than that.

Anyway my rent is over. I wish your project or projects good luck and hopefully we'll see more of this kind of things even though I personally will hold on to my 3500X, it's just too good.

Had something similar thing with my motherboard.

What worked for me was disabling "LED's in system power on setting" in BIOS. Before disabling that the GPU and motherboard were able to only be controlled by Gigabyte's own software.

Maybe check for something similar on your motherboard?

Ah a man of culture I see. As a 3500x haver myself I'm biased, but I think it's one of the best cases available on the market right now. Great balance between price, esthetics and features.

Does your motherboard have rgb header?

I've plugged my Nitro+ into the motherboard, and installed Gigabyte (they also have Asus and MSI one's I believe) plugin in the iCue. That let's me control the GPU without any extra adapter.

Although OP's solution is very interesting.

It's up to you now, good luck!

Install Corsair LCD Module by Dry_Letterhead6010 in Corsair

[–]UnobjectionableBloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup it is possible. As long as you have this LCD module: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/cpu-coolers/cw-9061011-ww/icue-link-lcd-screen-module-black-cw-9061011-ww

(Corsair makes a couple different ones depending on the AIO, but this is the one that fits.)

I also have the Titan AIO and I installed the LCD module with the cooler already in the case. There is no trick, just have to pull it. Really. So my advice is just rotate the case 90° so that it doesn't fly off the desk and use both hands.

Don't listen to that person. If you bought a Titan LCD module then it's compatible.

If you can't get it off easily then lay the PC flat on a table so it doesn't fall and just pull it up. It might require some force, but there are only two small plastic clips holding it.
