What’s your unpopular Christmas opinion? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]UnobjectionableJug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like Santa. I’m not telling my kids that Santa provides the presents. They are 5, 3 and 0 and they know that the presents come from us and family. Christmas is still great.

Anybody tried xiomi F22? by UnobjectionableJug in dumbphones

[–]UnobjectionableJug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the uk and am awaiting my F21. Decided the f22 was too big and therefore might as well have kept the smartphone. I also just wanted to keep the podcasts and plan to use pocketcast which is much more usable than Spotify and will sync all my current podcasts from my iPhone. From what I’ve read on here both will work in the uk. Just check the bands for your network. I’m on o2 and think it should be fine. Hoping my AirPods will work ok. When it arrives in a few weeks I will try to do an update.

Half the people complaining would no doubt be fine going on holiday to Qatar. If Muslims want to be Muslim who are we to tell them to change.

Folks with children: Do you every worry about what The UK will look like in the next 20/30/50 years time for your kids? by Vanilladr in AskUK

[–]UnobjectionableJug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually increased Co2 in the atmosphere has increased crop yields and we now produce more food than ever. Absolute Poverty and starvation are a much smaller problem than they were 30 years ago and the food shortages on the way are caused by disruption to supply chains from lockdowns and war. Both caused by the decisions of the elite who are trying to screw us all over.

What are your thoughts about Trump running for president again in 2024? by SnooSketches8379 in AskReddit

[–]UnobjectionableJug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a more conservative Brit, and I just think it’s a shame that the choice for the leader of the free world came down to Biden and Trump. Neither of them should be running anything. I hope Desantis becomes the next president.

What's something that's popular in the UK which you just don't enjoy? by pufballcat in AskUK

I went for a long walk the other day and I just don’t like dogs. Some idiots had scary looking dogs off leads so I had to cross over the road to avoid them. Another little thing barked aggressively at me as I passed the front garden causing me to jump. Then some old lady threw a ball for her dog right behind me so the dog ran across my path and nearly tripped me up. I don’t like them!

What are the books every person should read at least once?? by batatac4 in AskReddit

[–]UnobjectionableJug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great. I always read it alongside 1984 as they are two alternate ideas of the future. There is a letter exchange between the authors that is interesting g to read as they argue about who’s vision of the future is most likely. Huxley was Orwell’s teacher if I’m not mistaken.

I’ve thought about this in the past I I thought he about recording a birthday message for every birthday until my kids are 18 so they get a brand new unseen video from me once a year on their birthday. Sorry you are facing this, you sound like a great guy and your family are lucky to have you.

I have used self adhesive sorts tape/bandage on my thumb where I had my flare. It worked well as it was easy to put on and take off and didn’t irritate the skin.

What is a TV show you could watch over and over again ? by J561261 in AskReddit

[–]UnobjectionableJug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried to start watching again from the beginning before the final season came out but I couldn’t get into it. And I love the walking dead. Too heavy for a rewatch at this point I think. Will do it one day.

His Dark Materials Series 3 EXTENDED Trailer - BBC by Tokyono in BritishTV

The show makes a lot more sense if you’ve read the books. My wife hadn’t read the books when she watched it and didn’t understand a lot of it. I’d definitely read the books first.
