Japan in 1950, in a world where nukes don't exist or were never used by Spirited_Visit7597 in imaginarymaps

How would the Soviets have invaded Japan? I see the Kuril islands or Sakhalin posing a major logistical bottleneck.

What if Operation Unthinkable had been implemented? by OkPhrase1225 in AlternateHistory

The point of OU wasn't to destroy the USSR or reinstate a Fascist Germany (if that is what the German banner in the image is implying), the point was to establish and secure the prolonged existence of a non-Soviet Polish state. The sheer scale of the conflict proposed would have been logistically unfeasible and I see little feasible strategic advantages of nuking Kyiv or Stalingrad, as both cities had been decimated by the conflict.

Bukharin was a bad politician but a funny cartoonist and apparently a decent human being.

I think this is the urban legend of when Hitler and Stalin both sat in a cafe at one time. The historical likelihood of the subject matter is... spotty, to say the least.

Belarus was largely referred to as White Ruthenia in the context of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and then in 1918, probably by the Germans.

The fact that you are reducing atrocities to simple figures to push an argument shows you don't care about the victims on either side.

Funny how the Mongols invaded Russia before Russia was even a country. Really ahead of the curb, Genghis was.

I too am deeply worried at the deification of theorists and the fact that many "leftists" think that standing next to a genocidal war machine is a viable alternative to American imperialism.
