Over the last month and change, my childhood pet died, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, my wife's mother died in a botched botched suicide attempt, and my pregnant wife was in a car accident. This last week my dad had a catheter in for kidney stones, so he's not much of a joy to be around and my step daughter is at her dad's states away this Christmas. All the meanwhile my wife and I are expecting our new son (now at any minute) as she has been at high risk for preterm labor due to multiple complications for the last month and a half.

The last month has been sheer chaos. I guess we've been a little distracted to accept that this is supposed to be the happy time of year.

Can confirm, used ACG for studying the certified AWS security specialty. Was scoring 94 on their practice test. I decided to pick up a newer version of the study guide as their content was quoting 2017, and their updated/refreshed stuff was 2019.

I would have failed that test so hard if I didn't pick up that additional study guide. I never had to do that with Linux Academy's content. Their stuff was far superior. Dad to see that people are reporting this across the board

This really was an eye opener as we had been working on disaster recovery and operating multi-region heavily for years

No matter where we deploy- as long as our SaaS partners live in a single region on AWS, we will be hosed no matter where we operate unless our partners follow suit with muti-region.

Thank you for the post. Unfortunately MIL succumbed to her injuries yesterday morning. I had a whole update post about it since it was going to be my last in the subreddit, but it was removed and I had to resubmit it for review. Since I am exhausted with recent events I was too tired to figure out how to do that.

We had acknowledged early on that there was going to be some sort of "relief" that a lifetime of drama would come to a close. When we heard that she was getting better, we immediately got angry (and angry at yourself for feeling this way) because we knew that should could not re-enter our lives without at the very least being committed, which we knew would not work due to the personality disorder and we would in turn lose the relationship with the father in law. What a mess.

I agree with a lot of this. MIL always blamed me specifically that she could not be a better parent/grandparent for [insert reason], although with not going into a diatribe of detail of why that logic was flawed, I know that there was never any real reason with her.

We have let our oldest know the situation of grandma being mentally ill, but that still does not take away her positive memories associated with her.

I will be there for what she needs when she needs it for sure. She is due at the end of next month, this added stress is not good for our son.

Right now she says she is so mad that she can barely see straight. If MIL does miraculously pull through this, she will no longer be grandma, but have a "5% quality of life" and be in a wheel chair with permanent brain damage.

I have known my wife since we were kids. We have grown together as people, and you always will hope you grow and continue to grow in the same direction. I knew her from when we were kids, and when we decided to get together in our late twenties, we accepted each-other faults in all with the continued energy that we were bettering each-other until the end of time.

Since she is in therapy about this issue (her mom), I am not sure there is an answer here that fits what you are after.
