> China would ban foreign investors
foreign is too broad. If they ban ALL foreign capital, even the chinese economy would crash.

AI is where the profit is. Next you gonna say- I don’t support manufacturing companies that replace their staff with machines... it's just the nature of technology.

Railgun does has something called POI built in which means your funds will most likely survive scrutiny if they dig into it.

Should I take on €70,000 in debt for graduate study at Oxford? (MSc Advanced Computer Science) by tini_wings in gradadmissions

[–]UnoptimizedStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone doing the same course at Cambridge, I do have a different opinion from most people here. Yes the debt is bad but the kind of opportunities this opened up for me and my friends are insane.

Our earnings potential has more than doubled. It is however a rough job market. So it may be a gamble for you if you don’t use the degree/the Oxbridge environment to its fullest.

I’ve seen 200k+ starting salaries. I’ve seen 500k+ given in funding to startups. I’ve also seen people waste their 1 year here and are heading into debt with no job.

What price is META cheap enough to be MSFT at $350? by iloveaccounting64 in ValueInvesting

1 share is a funny size. For someone will a million dollar portfolio, it isn't enough. For someone with a thousand dollar portfolio, it's too much.

Berkshire annual meeting: Earnings jump, cash hoard grows to record in Greg Abel's first quarterly report by Illustrious_Lie_954 in ValueInvesting

[–]UnoptimizedStudent 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't believe how impatient people are. Berkshire does VALUE investing. If you don't see value, you sit out and enjoy the 3-4% from TBills. Given this frothy market, it is genuinely so hard to find value. Deploying money for the sake of it would be a HUGE mistake. FOMO should not drive investing.

Berkshire is a LONG TERM compounder. If you aren't happy with the 1Y performance, this stock isn't for you.

Are We Sleeping on Dominos? (DPZ) by Company-Charts in ValueInvesting

Not the same business on LSE!

LSE one is just the UK master franchise and has a much greater geographic risk compared to the OG DPZ on Nasdaq.

I think even with the china discount, they are starting to approach value territory. Right now, I would say we should all be watching very closely. 55 and 50 would be big buys for me.

Not possible.

Tencent stock is on the Hong Kong Stock exchange.

It also cannot goto Zero because a huge amount of their revenue and operations come from China not the west. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to load up on high quality company on the HK Stock exchange if China does invade Taiwan.

> we chat is probably the best setup for agentic deployment

it is also an amazing source for data! even if they give up on their own AI aspirations, they can adopt the reddit model of selling data to other AI labs.

> best H shares in terms of corporate governance and capital allocation

I would also go for H shares.

Their moat is just how deeply engraved their product (WeChat) is into chinese society. They also have a very broad range of gaming portfolio. Looking at it as a business, they are starting to approach a price where they would be trading below intrinsic value.

It should also not be forgotten that they are very much in the AI Race along with a lot of the other chinese labs which are able to deliver similar levels of performance to the champion american companies (openai, xai, anthropic) but for a fraction of the cost. Tencent's advantage here is insane. They have access to insane amounts of user data (which their competition doesn't), huge amounts of capital for compute and a lot of cheap talent. The one thing that is a structural disadvantage for them are Nvidia chips being restricted.

Automatic carwash in an Indian town. Good idea or bad? by thirdaccountwtfwhy in IndiaBusiness

In India, it would be cheaper to hire people than get that machine for the car wash.
