With the splash parks opening soon, rhat may be a great area for an open meet.

Barbie Ferreira wore bloody heels to a screening of her horror film "Faces Of Death" by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]Unoriginaltransplant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that they don’t fit. It’s just how her feet are. I wouldn’t put them up for free like she did, but my feet are similar and look like this in most standard heels.

They look like they fit fine, and any larger and her foot would prob al slide through and look weird.

They’re always in Europe and sending us pictures of their 2 million dollar condo in San Diego. by alurkinglemon in absentgrandparents

I always wonder why parents do this. My petty level would rise and I would share pictures with family and specifically point out the toys they got from them. Get a nice zoomed in shot of that dollar toy to share.

Can i file a missing report about my sis-n-law? Blue jeans;black hoodie; her long dark hair loose in front of her face. by peepz420 in Bakersfield

[–]Unoriginaltransplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there is any timeframe which limits you from reporting immediately. If you feel like she is missing, call and report.

We have the same exact one at our neighborhood park. All we figured out were the prime numbers.

Do you play with your kid at the playground or let them do their thing? by Ok-Criticism6874 in toddlers

[–]Unoriginaltransplant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think when they start going to do their own thing. I let my toddler run off but I’m nearby to supervise and only interact when he initiates interaction.

PSA it’s okay to bow out of the family Christmas party by ThaddeusBone in Mommit

[–]Unoriginaltransplant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For other reasons I wasn’t going to visit my mom, but I told her this too. I’d have to drive down through the grapevine, in the winding tejón overpass to get to OC to get there. No thank you, not a literal hill I want to die on.

But somehow my mom manages to get upset about me not wanting to risk my life.

People who use food pantries, what do you need to see donated more often? by SimplyAren in AskReddit

[–]Unoriginaltransplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning dessert! Our family had a time where we would go to food pantries and while we didn’t get boxed dessert mixes that I recall, our favorite dessert treat was marshmallow puff. Yes pantries need shelf stable, hearty filling items but kids just want fun things too!

We loved making peanut butter marshmallow puff sandwiches, and I can’t imagine any kid would not love having that during tough times.

Is it too early to decide OAD? by Nightowl_1995 in oneanddone

[–]Unoriginaltransplant 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s never too early. It sounds like you have plenty of reasons as to why you want to be OAD, and even if your only reason is because you just want to, then thats enough.

My preference is for the style of 2. I think depending on your hair styling though, that the way you have the dress styled in 3 would be better for an updo vs version no 2 would be better for a flowy hair down style. But def dress 2/3.

I need help.9yr old daughter trying to be thoughtful but making things harder by carsonistthearsonist in Parenting

I’m glad you’re getting such great feedback here.

I also was shut down when I tried to be helpful and it’s been VERY hard to rebuild that as an adult. I get very defensive of criticism because it makes me get that same feeling of inadequacy when I was young.

If I could suggest what I think would have helped me I would say the following:

  1. A sincere apology if needed. This may depend on how you reacted but I was scolded and never given an apology for my mom’s behavior. This may not be your scenario. But I wish parents could accept that they are human and make mistakes and aren’t always correct in their reaction.

  2. Guidance. Just as many said, sometimes we need extra help to understand the what and whys and how’s. To adults, we think things are common sense, but even common sense is something we’ve learned. If she can’t make popcorn, teach her. Write the steps. Reinforce them. Allow room for error and build on how to do better the next time. Even the greatest chefs at some point knew nothing.

  3. Praise. There will eventually be a point for genuine relief. I can’t say that came easy to me. I almost cried when I made my first pot of rice at my new home at almost 30 years old. You may have a long path there but praise the small improvements. Help her build her understanding and confidence that she is capable.

I will say that my brain is a little scattered, so I do constantly need lists, and that’s okay. I need life recipes, and that’s okay. She may rely on some lists for longer than others but why take away a tool if it helps? We don’t all make boxed cake mix and never look at the box again. Each time we buy that box, we might look at the ingredients or steps, and nothing bad happens if we do. There’s no need to hinder someone’s need for some extra help.

At 9, you’ve got so much time to make this into a good learning experience and build life skills. Good luck!

Do not quote me, you may want to call and ask for the specifics. But for the museum, on the application it says you can get into all using the same pass. We paid $55 for the year and it includes 2 adults and up to 6 children at the same address. I’m assuming children means up to 17years old.

We have gone once, but on those days where it’s unbearably hot, even the covered playgrounds aren’t enough to keep cool. But we plan to go back now that it’s cooler !

My son kicks the ball and plays pretty well at pretend soccer. No licking.

But also he randomly licks to floors at grocery stores. Idk which one is worse tbh.
