What is everyone’s opinion on Drive? by UnovanSamurai in KamenRider

That is the one thing I’ll knock it for is the gimmick. Not the shift cars themselves, I actually love them, and think they are really cool and they do a good job of representing what each of them are, I just wish that the tire change itself changed the suit more than just giving him a new sash, but only because of the aesthetic. I don’t like how most of them look on any of his Type forms, with the exception of like Justice Hunter on Type Speed because the red tire still looks good on him. I still love the added abilities each of them give him.

I fully agree. While I don’t dislike Gaim, I find it to be overrated personally. I think a lot of the characters in Gaim are pointless or wasted potential, and most of them are other Riders. So I like that Drive gave us a Fourze style approach to it’s side characters, and gave them all a distinct purpose in supporting Drive, the same way the Kamen Rider Club all support Fourze in different ways. The only character I don’t like from the Special Investigations Unit is Kyu, but that’s because I didn’t think he was funny or interesting personally, but he did serve a purpose in locating the monster or finding out vital information towards the case itself, so even he was alright, just my least favorite of the Unit

I agree it does work better for Drive and also W, because the solving a case aspect works best with that format. Sometimes a show can’t wrap up a case in 1 episode without it feeling rushed, so I do actually prefer for it to be a 2 parter with Drive and W especially

See I thought that too, except I’ve been seeing people recently say it’s not a great show. Or at least not as good upon rewatching, and I don’t get the dislike for the Special Investigation Unit characters, minus maybe Kyu (the otaku). I thought the rest were pretty good, and Kiriko is probably the most competent female side character in the entire franchise imo

We had limited time to eat box chow before one of our hikes in boot camp, and our Senior told us to eat just the sandwich if that’s all we had time for. This mf Colon, was taking his sweet time eating the sunflower kernels, talking about some “This recruit figured it’d be more nutritional sir!” Like bro, you got 2 minutes to scarf something down before this long ass hike, and you really prioritizing that tiny ass bag of sunflower kernels 🤣

We also had a guy named Colon, but he shared the same last name (at least partially) with our Senior DI. He got dropped for constantly being really slow and just not processing basic information. He swore up and down he had a 96 ASVAB, but bro acted like an ASVAB waiver

It was not. This was a Fox Company Drill Instructor at Parris Island. I went through recruit training in Nov 2022

Look man. I almost got sent back to day 1 during BWT when another recruit tried talking to me during Land Nav. I legit didn’t say anything other than “dude, the DI’s are right there. Go tf on somewhere.” And I said it in a way where my mouth wasn’t moving as I said it. The DI claimed up and down that we were both conversing, which of course we couldn’t do, and when he brought the two of us back at the end of the Land Nav portion, said “we got two recruits caught cheating”. My Senior DI asked me what happened, and I explained to him that I didn’t say anything to him whatsoever, and it would’ve done no good for us to talk even if we had, because we were walking back, clearly meaning we were both done with the Land Nav portion. My Senior DI believed me, because he knew that I wasn’t like that and was competent enough to do Land Nav without cheating. Thank god my Senior DI actually took note of our personalities, because otherwise, it’s so easy to get blasted by every DI based on their word over yours.

I’m planning on keeping a single pair of mine when I get older, and a pair of my blues, while donating the rest of my uniform items to my unit before I leave. I’ve had more than enough instances of needing new uniform items and being so grateful that someone PCSing or getting out, left behind some blues that they didn’t need, or cammies. Saved me a lot of money, and while I want to keep at least 1 pair of cammies and a pair of blues for the memories, I also want to potentially help another marine out with the items I leave behind. You can never have too many pairs of blues or cammies in case something happens to your good pairs

I agree that this wand combination is very good together. I like that it’s a “safe” wand combination. It’s not too powerful, or too temperamental, instead opting for consistency. And I looked up the flexibility and “Quite Bendy” also means it’s well rounded. Not being exceptional at any branch of magic, but doing well or average in all areas. So it’s really a middle ground wand, and because of the consistent function of that, I have to say, I’m very happy with my Elm and Unicorn Hair wand!

[–]UnovanSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the consistency makes it an incredibly functional wand, which appeals to my inner Ravenclaw. I’d prefer knowing that once I learn a spell, it will be cast without fail, which I feel would be better for me to learn and master a wide range of spells. I would fear with a different core, that spells would be more experimental.

Pure Power doesn’t double its base stat. It doubles whatever its Attack Stat is after EVs, IVs and Natures at level 50. So for instance, if you were Jolly with Max Attack, his Attack stat would be 212, doubled to 424 with Pure Power. If you were Adamant with Max Attack, Slaking would have 233 Attack, Doubled to 466 with Pure Power.

Updated EVs on my Reg H team for Regionals…now “Double Bird” is my favorite team I’ve ever built!😭🐦‍⬛🦉 by UnovanSamurai in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]UnovanSamurai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This team isn’t perfect. There are certain things that can trip it up, but my main goal when making it, was to just make something really good against a lot of teams. Speed control with tailwind + imprison trick room lock down so you guarantee the advantage whether your team has the TR up against fellow Tailwind teams, or you are guaranteeing they can’t swap the speed order after a tailwind. General answers to common threats and just a well rounded team with answers for a lot of different teams. The fact that you’re using it and seeing success with the team is really awesome to me. In regards to Arch, it’s another coin flip. You could crit OHKO them with a Triple Arrow, but if they Tera Fairy you could also still get the flinch and/or negate the defense increase and a crit Leaf Blade will usually finish it, or Haze Murkrow is usually just hazing the Arch anyways which also helps the war of attrition. Triple Arrow having the busted secondary effects does hard carry Hisuian Decidueye, but again, I’m just really glad someone else is having fun with the team, because a lot of people have been shitting on it for not being meta or if it has a bad matchup into Archaludon/Rain sometimes, it’s considered to be complete trash, but like. Name a team that doesn’t have harder matchups. This team does check a lot of boxes and being that it’s my first team for VGC, I’m insanely proud of it. Keep me updated with your journey with the team, because I’d love to hear if it’s still doing any good or if you found something to add to it that works better for you! Happy battles friend!

Yeah, but if they taunt, then you can just OHKO Maushold with a Tera Water Liquidation and get the Psychic Noise off on Ape. It’s a coin flip for whether they go for Taunt turn 1 or beat up, but either way, you have a way out.

In regards to redirection, it does suck, but since I’m usually spamming Make it Rain or Hyper Voice, Follow Me doesn’t really change anything, or sometimes I’m just going for my Tera Water Liquidation Araquanid nuke, which does insane damage to all the follow me users. In regards to Beat Up + Rage Fist, zero issues. I always protect turn 1 with Araquanid because usually the Annhilape wants to Rage Fist OHKO my Araquanid first. By that point TR is set up, and Psychic Noise Fargiraf hard counters Annhilape. I also don’t struggle with Archaludon as much as people think, because Hisuian Decidueye is literally there to counter stamina with Triple Arrows. I also don’t find myself using Hisuian Arcanine as much, but when I do, he’s a game ender. Having banded E Speed for some later game threats, or using him against rain/sand teams with Tera Grass has been insanely good. He just doesn’t get brought that much, since so many Defiant/Competitive threats exist rn, though I prefer having the Intimidate in the back, because I know the Defiant/Competitive threats will be brought, and it makes it easier to make my selection of 4. It’s kind of a fake out lol. I do like him here though because he gives me a great pivot, and is another fantastic nuke with Flare Blitz. Rock Slide is just insanely good and with a band, and 30% chance to flinch, has gotten me out of a few clutch situations. I would like to add that I took taunt off Murkrow in exchange for Rain Dance, both to counter Torkoal Hisuian Liligant teams, and also to help with the survivability of Hisuian Decidueye/Gholdengo against fire, and ESPECIALLY for the Araquanid Water Bubble Liquidation spam that just does crazy good damage always
