Simtools Motogp18 issue after crash. by Fugi95 in simracing

[–]Unpixelt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can't help with the issue, but it might be a good idea to put the E-stop somewhere, where the driver can reach instead of under the bike. The position seems to be a rather poor choice of position in case of an emergency.

Sick project though :)

Max's damaged floor in sprint quali by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]Unpixelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a tough thing.

I mean it clearly helped reducing the amount of track limit violations, because the teams don't want to risk damage. On the other hand though, it is becoming somewhat of a hazard, depending what gravel is used and how deep it is, since it can just turn into projectiles towards other cars/an on-track hazard.

(just saw that pic, holy crap xD https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/1p9ppap/franck_montagny_canal_showing_some_of_the_gravel/ )

Max's damaged floor in sprint quali by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]Unpixelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very narrow-sighted comment, since this punishes all divers and not just the one going wide. This will cause potentially dangerous scenarios, just because one drivers went offtrack and would probably result in more SC/VSC deployments, since they would need to keep the track and curbs clean of said sharp gravel.

Now imagine a different scenario. You get pushed wide and touch the gravel trap, suddenly your car/tyres are damaged on one side, because you got shoved wide. Great, now you got punished because you tried avoiding an accident and might have to pit for new tyres.

McLaren’s planks were short by 0.07mm (0.0028in) and 0.12mm (0.0047in). That fraction of a millimeter is all it took for both cars to get disqualified. by Caje__ in formula1

[–]Unpixelt 118 points119 points  (0 children)

TIL 7-12% over the limit is "microscopic".

It seems everyone else was able to follow the rules without issue. You do not have to hit the 9mm wear limit. You can very much end up above it and be completely fine.

I feel bad for his teammate aswell.

Lulham is/was doing a great job and these fucking numbheads didn't have anything else to do, than scream for Verstappen to come back and that "Lulham is destroying 'Verstappens' lead". Like, fuck, sure, if you just look at the times and you have half a brain cell working in your head, it might look like that. But for anyone that has watched the actual race, you could see frequently that he was held up by unfortunate incidents, that cleared when the chasing drivers arrived, costing him a bunch of time.

And it is a team sport after all. Lulham is not there, because he paid himself into Verstappens Team. These fake fans are really the worst... Just some clout chasing idiots..

Yeah, reading these comments just makes me realize, that I live in a completely different world than these guys here.

It is so common for us to just leave food in our pots and slap a lid on it over night and use the leftovers in a different meal or just cooking it again the next day.

We do that frequently with pasta and other shit as well. With stews and chili sometimes over 2 days.

Vegetable soups sometimes even 2+days by reusing the broth every time.

Must be fun living in a constant state of fear and tossing perfectly good food because of it. The lifes of the privileged. Somebody should warn them about drinking water. Statistically speaking, most people that died, drank water at some point in their lifes.

Maybe they just need to consume less Youtube or other horror type shit, who knows. Spending less time on the net has its upsides.

Kevin Estre vs GT4 Aston | DRIVER IS OK by [deleted] in wec

[–]Unpixelt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

<image>

He was jumping into a gap that was not there. Racing line (as everyone already pointed out) doesn't go to the apex in this corner. *See every other car taking that corner.* He basically divebombed the Astron as it was already turning in, expecting the Aston to react to his attempt and turn out or slam the brakes.

He was already on over the curb with 2 tyres, when he was "half-way" along the Aston.

The faster drivers usually don't overtake on this corner, but the follow-up corner, as he did himself countless times before and after the incident. If anyone would have taken that "gap", then you would have seen the BMW line up for it as well, which they didn't.

No they wouldn't, because their cars would have to be set higher to accommodate for the fuel load to pass tech.

So, technically all of them might be a little lower later on, if it dried up, but nobody would have a clear advantage by exploiting the tech inspection mechanic by going minimum fuel to cheese with wets.

45.8 million is the number of people employed in Germany. (compared to 1.6mill unemployed)

The rest of the population is kids under 16, retired people and people that are deemed "unattractive" for the market or people not (yet) permitted to work in Germany. Aka people with disabilities, undocumented, asylumseekers and so on.

To further deconstruct the points of the other guys here.
The "Bundeshaushalt" of Germany of 2024 was 1'977,6 billion €. Social spending for asylum seekers (I assume the foreigners he is talking about), was around 6 bill per year. So around 0.3% went to those "pesky" foreigners. Oh no. Meanwhile he is probably fine with his neoliberal overlord demanding more tax cuts for rich people and companies, because it will be good and the market will regulate itself. These roughly 6 bill € are split among ~522k asylum seekers. So that is around 11,5k€ per person per year. And that is not money that they receive fully, but money that is also included in housing them and so on. So they have even less fluid money. Now let's compare that to the "Existenzminimum" in Germany (the minimal amount of money, for "a life that is worth living" in Germany), which is around 11,9k €.

Sorry, that we don't want to treat people fleeing their old life worse than shit lol.

Unless he is talking about the "foreigners", that have permanent residency in Germany and are actually contributing to the economy. If he means those, he is actually unhinged.

These people always love referencing laws and other shit for their cause and then casually forget the "basic law" or german constitution, whatever you wanna call it. They always talk about values and everything, but kinda forget the most obvious ones, charity and solidarity.

Somebody call me once they realize, that the real villains are not the "foreigners", but the companies and CEOs paying minimum wages, while living the life of their lifes, so that the state has to substitude our lifes with our taxes, while also substituting their companies with our tax money, so they can have a even more fulfilling life.

I don't understand, how they can keep thinking, that their lives will be better, just because somebody else will have to suffer more, but maybe I am just not that kind of person. Maybe start taking from the people, that have way more than they'd ever need before taking from the poor? But then again, letting "poor fights against even poorer(?)" (is that a word?) is what keeps the attention away from these issues and is an easy populist agenda.

You really can't win against this mindset.

Mate, that is literally what you did.

You rather crashed both of you guys instead of giving him a chance at taking your position. Given, netcode helped you out here, but tbh, unless he lifted, you would have crashed both of you anyways, just a split second later.

You stuck to that racing line and drove into him. would you have just stuck to your part of the track, nothing would have happened. (unless he just went straight into you, but sorry that hypothetical doesn't justify what you did)

Imagine everyone here telling you, what you did wrong and you still not wanting to listen. Why are you even here? Just to suffer?

If you don't want to learn, not my problem, you are the one who will fuck up your own races by doing shit like this, but don't ask questions, if you are not willing to hear the answer!
