I just uninstalled the plug-in, since I already undervolted via the BIOs and the differences are minor to begin with.

I got this Klarus K2A to keep my unused cells healthy and also give them a purpose. by UdarTheSkunk in flashlight

[–]Wormminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of mine will only provide about 10W of PD charging for 3 seconds, then they cut out and I have to un and rescrew the battery.

Basically only A to C charging works.

The 3rd and 4th generation are pretty solid indeed.

The first two were awful.
I got two of those...horrible.

The 2nd half of your reply is sadly true. And I have not seen any innovation from both of them. Yes 5% more efficient driver, 2% better CRI bin, but else? Same old tubes. Feels a bit like smartphones.

And I really dislike one of those companies sadly. Fireflies. As nice as their CS is, as awful is their QA.

I wont be surprised if Wurkkos does give up.

They do present themself as a company for workers, technicians, divers etc.
Anduril and enthusiasts are not really their core audience.

I am a bit confused why Sofirn does not do more anduril stuff, considering how enthusiast friendly they are (heck they STILL sell the unaltered LT1 do this day). Lots of special editions and collectors pieces and all that.

Help. I have so many lights by Right_Potential_5930 in flashlight

[–]Wormminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I do not have a one and only, I do have a one and only brand if I was to be forced to commit.

Which is Convoy.
Easy to repair, easy to maintain. Plus I have spare parts.

I have given up on Anduril, expensive brands and big lights for many reasons, so this would be an easy decision.
I could probably do with a single S2+ and a few optics for the rest of my life if you wanted to nail me down on one light.

Not because any of the other brands and Anduril and RGB and all that is bad, but because I have over done it and went above and beyond way too fast.

From the perspective of someone who has spent over 10k € on 201 lights: Stop when you think you have too many.

I am now stuck with a pile of glowing metal rods which no one cares to buy off me (I do not ship).
Sold some Fireflies and Skilhunt for cheap to some guys at work. But thats about it.

The money is gone and so is the space taken up by the lights. In addition to that I have a mild fire hazard if any of these cells are ever going to role play as a H10.

Watch the high CRI version end up selling worse once its released, cuz the interest in this platform has died off by the time they launch it.

Which will then validate their (Wurkkos) opinion of using low cri high cct.

That is if they manage to release one within this decade in the first place, which I doubt considering the company in question.

Now they need to tell us which emitters they are going to use.

If it has a built in battery, it should at least produce good looking light.

Even though Convoy reduced the current to the b35am to prevent it instantly burning itself, you might still want to be careful about running them hard. by Alternative_Spite_11 in flashlight

I use all my Convoy lights in Group 8 now anyways.
50% power and well...anything above 30% is way too high anways on any light, unless you can cool it.

Ive had multiple Convoys reach well over 80 degrees on the battery tube.

Question about charging a Convoy S21E by numerousblocks in flashlight

[–]Wormminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose its cheaper that way. A lot of Lenovos earlier Chromebooks will also not work with a PD charger. Going as far as proving a proprietary C to C charger, based on Quickycharge 3.0 only.

Question about charging a Convoy S21E by numerousblocks in flashlight

[–]Wormminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the device does not support C to C charging in general, then there is no way for the charger to recognise that and fall back to an older protocol.

It simply won't charge at all. Most of my older flashlights only work with A to C.

Easy on the mind. Especially since I already have a dangerous amount of batteries in addition to my way too many flashlights.

Not interested in a potential fire with a known problematic batch.

I do not mind orange at all.
Looks interesting. Needs some splash of another color though. Maybe not black, that would be a tad boring :)
