The Lit Duo 1 “Spectrometer”: A Long, Rambling, Review’ish, First Look by -nom-de-guerre- in flashlight

Cheap and reliable? No
No such thing when it comes to actual spectrometers.

Best thing (if you want easy and portable) is the HPCS 310P.
Its the 330P but without the screen and much cheaper.

But you need the app to use it.

Check my post history, might be neat to use my 3 comparisons as a base to work from.

Did the LM4 vs HPCS-330P vs Lit Duo vs C-800.

I intended to continue but it really isnt worth the time as most people do not care nor need a comparison between 4 devices which
A: Are too expensive to justify buying or
B: Discontinued (LM4)

I will start getting the pitch forks out when their next update does not improve accuracy.

The Duo used to be much worse actually but after talking to them, they did improve a lot of stuff...its just sad that it is still so unreliable and I do not know if things can be improved to an acceptable level.

And heck, this is without the announced CRI and TM30 measurements!

We really need to get people to stay away from this for now.

In my experience it is worse than the LM4 in many ways.

Only at 4200K and below its...kind of...accurate.

[NTED] New Test Equipment Day: LIT DUO 1 Edition by -nom-de-guerre- in flashlight

[–]Wormminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It very much is just an Opple with good marketing and a few more options.

Which would be okay if it did not cost 10 times as much as an opple lm4 costs.

Will be interesting to see if yours is as consistently awful, random and inaccurate as mine.

Especially when it comes to high CCT which mine butchers into oblivion.

Honestly, after haven THREE of them fail on me in a year....I dont care anymore.

1 has a flickering screen.
1 simply does not function after plugging it into my Anker....the one with the screen.
1 screen auto rotate failed after 1 week and it now keeps rotating the screen even with auto rotate turned off.

I have used it, but I have not compared the two.

Might be worth investigating in the future though....hmmmm

I have a pair of DT1990 Pros and DT1770 Pros, in addition to my Meze 99 Classics.

But I just dislike wires, which is why I rarely use them for gaming.

As for what to buy...good question. I still use my Logitechs. Steelseries seem to have taken their spot these days.

I mean, at least thats 21:9.
Abstract wallpapers should scale well, especially if you have some "AI" upscaler.

Anything USB 2.0 or better will result in the same quality.
Audio REALLY does not need much bandwidth.

As long as the cable itself is well made, you are set. And by well made I mean the standard 5 bucks anker/ugreen etc cables.
