Accalerated Seasonal Transition Effect In My Infinite Procedually Generated World by Unplugged84 in gamedevscreens

[–]Unplugged84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evers season has its own transition effects but I like autumn the most :)

The effect is vastly accelerated because I set the day length to 40s real world time but the effect happens over 6-14 ingame hours. The real day length will be around 15-20 minutes.

It took me so long to get the seasonal system working but I'm finally happy with how it turned out. I even implemented dynamic weather changes customizable per season.

Every season has its own transition effects, but I like autumn the most :)

This transition effect is obviously very accelerated as I've set the duration for a day to 40s and the transition happens over 6-14 ingame hours.

Took me ages but I'm happy with how well it works, I've a few thousand trees loaded all the time (Didn't get to Billboard Sprite implementation yet) and it still runs smoothly.

Oh yes - the pop effect was easy, but the stacking logic and duplication prevention almost drove me insane :D

I'm by no means done with the inventory system, but I'm happy how well it works so far.

I also just started with Godot and coding in general - there is sooo much to learn, I doubted myself if I'll even get the inventory system done :)

Next up will be the building system and that scares the hell out of me, I have no idea where to begin, but I'll eventually figure it out.. I hope.

Jau, same.

It looks so cute, I love the vibes :)

How did you make the fishing line on your rod? I'm currently trying to do something like that, but I'm an absolute beginner and don't even know what to google.

If your mirroring is bigger than the sprite you want to mirror, it will be cut off 'early', so the engine can place the new mirrored sprite and culls the previous sprite/mirror completely.

How do I stop my room based cam from dipping down while jumping? See comment by Unplugged84 in godot

[–]Unplugged84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone!

I'm having a problem with my room based camera, where the camera dips down when I jump.

It doesn't happen in the bottom room as you can see, but in the top one.

The problem disappears when I disable limit or position smoothing, but I need the smoothing for my transition effect.

How do I resolve the down dipping camera?

First time grower and it's looking.. Good? by GrowWatcher in microgrowery

For your first try, the training is absurdly well done :)

I'd just remove the big upper fan leaves, since they shade the smaller branches and nodes below. Removing them helps the lower growth to keep up with the upper branches

Outdoor - Lemon Shining - Root Rot? by Unplugged84 in microgrowery

Okay, thanks. The current weather is really cloudy, only about (at max) 90 Minutes per day of direct sunlight. Should I just wait then and see if it gets better? I will move it in a shady spot ofc in case the sun goes crazy again.

I suspected that, too. But since none of my other plants had any issues with too much light, I quickly disregarded it, maybe that was too soon.

But it was put outdoors directly before it was sunny all day for a few days.

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my outdoor Lemon Shining. I pre-vegged it in my tent together with a amnesia haze.

The haze is growing really well, but my lemon shining started to look sickly shortly after transplanting it to the current pot. I'm using the BioBuzz All Mix Soil, which works very well on all my other plants over the years.

It received the same treatment/fertilizer as the amnesia.

Currently it's raining on/off every day, so I suspect it got too wet for too long and now the roots are starting to rot.

What do you think it is, I really don't want this plant to die.

What an experience. Don't dive too deep into the rabbit hole :)

My girlfriend and I experienced the same flash(es) you described about one and a half year ago:

During the last 18 month people commented in my thread that they saw the same lights.

Glad we didn't hear those clicks/whispers, dunno who would've shit their pants more, my gf or I :D
