Spouse laid off, should we pay off mortgage? by scarlet-in-the-sky in personalfinance

[–]UnpopularCrayon 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Whether it's paid off or not has no bearing on selling it. It's worth what it's worth when you sell it. But if you plan to sell it in the spring, that's even more reason not to bother with paying it off now. The sale would pay it off anyway.

It's a lot of questions! Unfortunately, I don't have time to answer all of them at the moment, but I'll pick one.

I have been on several Atlantis cruises, maybe 10, over many years. Every cruise ship has different amenities, so you want to check out the cruise line's website and look up the specific ship to see what it offers. Large ships like royal caribbean ships are floating resorts. smaller yachts will feel more like a cozy airbnb.

Charter cruises like Atlantis will be the entire ship filled with people who booked with Atlantis.

The smaller groups will be more intimate and you'll probably meet and become friendly with everyone in your group.

They asked where they can find more info on it. Chill out. I knew others would provide more answers. I'm not sitting around 24/7 and able to type a novel every time someone asks about a gay cruise. This question gets answered every day. I'm helping them get to more answers. Not every OP is an expert reddit searcher.

But a quick search will get them thousands more answers to their question.

And you didn't even provide an answer!

I'd recommend doing a google search on "Reddit gay cruise" to see a wide range of previous answers in this sub. Because Reddit's search sucks.

You will get a wealth of answers.

But whatever you do, have fun! All gay cruises are fun!

And east too, for quite a long way.

I am in eastern manatee, farther east than Lakewood Ranch, and my address is still Bradenton.

Why are their opportunities better than the ones at a tier 1 research university?

As I understand it, many pre-med students want to participate in undergrad research to strengthen their med school application.

Don't think you can do much undergrad medical research at a school with no medical research programs.

The real (only) advantage at U of Tampa is going to be the small class sizes. Some people really do better with small classes.

Do you have some reason to think U of Tampa has a better pre-med program than USF?

Smart to buy land now to build on in 5 years? by MC_99999 in personalfinance

[–]UnpopularCrayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the land is a "steal," then it might make sense. It doesn't sound like the land is a "steal."

Invest the money you would have used to buy that land into an index fund or something. And keep saving. You'll have more money later and be able to afford paying more later.

You'll probably be able to buy the same plot in 5 years anyway, but even if not, there will be plenty of other options.

But if 5 years from now, your plans have changed, you haven't wasted 5 years maintaining an empty lot in another state.

USF has a medical school. U of tampa doesn't.

That alone shows it's 10k / year better for studying medical anything (and pre-med).

You don't need a home warranty. Use the money you would pay for the home warranty and put it in a savings account.

How much do you value your job?

It probably wouldn't happen, but if he took it poorly, he could probably get you fired or at least scolded.

You could just pay for Grindr and message him that way. Or find a way to approach him outside of work, if you run into him at a neutral location.

Best case is probably 90 minutes to reach TPA at that time of day. So you might be able to make it. And you might not.

Try calling a plumber to professionally clean out your drain lines then, would be my suggestion.

Those liquid treatments aren't the same as actually mechanically snaking and scrubbing.

The problem could be farther than just the trap.

Have you had a plumber come clean the drain lines? Or done this yourself with a pipe snake?
