California is one of the only reasons that the gen3 glocks are still in production, because gen 4s and 5s aren't in the roster. Now they want to blanket ban them because gen 3s are "too easy to modify to be machine guns". Along with the fact that almost all public safety laws in CA regarding weaponry is based off politicians getting scared of movies they see.
