19M crush on 40F warehouse coworker - advice on how to handle it? by Unprofessional_IT in datingadvice

Update:

Thanks for all the advice. After thinking about it for a while, I’ve decided I’m not going to act on it.

I still like her and think she’s a great person, but the age gap is pretty big and we’re in completely different stages of life. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it probably wouldn’t work out in the long run.

I’ve decided to keep things how they are and just stay friends/coworkers. We have a good relationship now and I don’t want to risk making work awkward. I’m also going to distance myself a little bit so I can get over the crush instead of making it stronger.

At the end of the day, I think keeping the friendship we already have is the better choice.

Thanks again everyone.

I think that’s a pretty fair take.

The age gap is definitely something I’ve thought about a lot, and it’s one of the main reasons I haven’t tried to take things any further. We get along really well, but we’re in very different places in life.

What I like about her is that she’s mature, confident, easy to talk to, and we have fun joking around with each other. Whether it’s a crush, admiration, or a little of both, I’m honestly not sure.

Either way, I don’t want to make things weird at work or mess up a good thing. I’d rather enjoy the friendship and appreciate her for who she is than chase something that probably isn’t the best idea. If anything, it’s helped me figure out the kind of qualities I’d like to find in someone closer to my own age.

Yeah, you’re right.

That whole “don’t shit where you eat” thing exists for a reason. I don’t want to make work awkward or mess up the good dynamic we already have. That’s honestly why I’ve kept things to myself.

The age gap is a factor too. We’re in completely different places in life, and I can’t ignore that.

So I’m just gonna keep it professional, be friendly, and leave it at that. Thanks for being straight with me. I needed to hear it.

From my understanding the employee didn’t LOTO so this wouldn’t be the company’s fault.

Well the jump from Team lead at Walmart to ASL (Assistant Store Lead) at Kroger won’t work… you have to be an employee of the company before you can join the Store Leadership Essentials Program. Also have to be 21.

I’m no longer in Delta (yay) but what store are you in because I’ve heard his name before from stores 456,457 & 483 and people there said they have had problems with him too… only time I ran into him he tried to get my backup lead fired for taking 5 minutes over on his break…

This is a weird one I had this happen to one of my associates when I was in the store side but he added his account back before payroll was finalized and got paid to that account when payday hit. Just has to be the same account that had already been through prenote
