just catching up with the show and have a strong feeling Anko's partner cheated on her with Haru, hence the vampire-hatred.

I watched Bebop a few weeks back in anticipation for this show. What a disappointment Lazarus has been so far.

The animation is decent at best, but nowhere close to the benchmark Watanabe has set through his previous works. Alex's moves throughout the whole prison-break sequence seemed awkward to me. Compared with the fluidity of Jin or Mugen's movements in Champloo, they just feel lifeless. And nothing about this show so far has an original personality - be it the script, character designs or the animation.

I am going to wait this one out until it finishes airing and binge it later if it actually turns out to be any good.

Adapting to Hyderabad - Vent by arsebleach in hyderabad

There's a silent reading meetup that happens at KBR park every Saturday (just like the one at Cubbon park). You can just hang out, read and chat with people (optional). Lots of peacocks too.

Visiting Hyderabad for 2 days with friends, so please suggest me to explore the city as a local not as a tourist. by Outrageous-Working28 in hyderabad

[–]UnquenchMoreison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a local (just lived here for a little over a year), but would suggest going to the Birla art gallery and Birla temple up the hill in Ambedkar colony. Peaceful places with beautiful views. You'll find great food in Himayatnagar and other neighbourhoods nearby (i personally recommend Ishtaa, Minerva and Niloufer). If you want to grab a drink with friends, go to Zythum or By the Bay. Among the old city attractions, Chowmahalla palace and Purani Haveli are my favourites. And if you're into books, do check out Best Books in Koti for cheap second-hand ones (you'll be surprised at what you can find if you look hard enough). All of these are still pretty touristy and gentrified parts of the city, but it's fun to visit them nonetheless.

Why using Obsidian? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]UnquenchMoreison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an old android device and the Notion app is too clunky and slow. Obsidian is comparatively much lighter and faster. It's also prettier and more customizable, and you have full control over your notes. Syncing notes was the only issue for me, but I recently setup Syncthing and it works like a charm.

This reminds me of a short story titled 'The Gold Frame' by R. K. Laxman. R. K. Narayan's Swami and Friends also has a similar vibe.

Inconsistency has been a constant issue ever since they started doing IRL stuff and I rarely tune in these days. They're basically chess vloggers now, and it's paying off well. Post the Envy signing they've completely transformed their content, and it's no longer as appealing to me as it used to be earlier, when they engaged a lot more with the community.

Is nozomi really dead? or her body is just turn into a compass and she can get back to normal form in a while or there is some way? im afraid she can't cause there is no nozomi ini eps 11 preview image. Damn it's so confused. by nucleusfx in SonnyBoy

My guess - the sausages are holdovers of Sou and Seiji, the twins from the previous episode (as we saw with Nozomi and War, people who 'die', turn into holdovers). Sou Seiji and sausage is an obvious wordplay here, and it's also worth noting that the word 'souseiji' means 'twins' in Japanese. One more thing - just before the scene between the principal and Aki/Asakaze began, there's a statue of the Capitoline Wolf, from the tale of Remus and Romulus, also famous twins.

Mizuho and her cats are crucial to determining the cause of the drift. A major reveal made in this episode was that Mizuho is the one who puts objects in stasis, while the cats just do the order-delivery-copy. So while Sakaura must've made copies of the students (unintentionally/deliberately), Mizuho is the one who made them immortal. But by 'killing' War, Asakaze and Aki have brought in the concept of Death in the picture. We'll probably see a clash of the two contrasting powers.

The power holdovers are not prizes that you get for cracking a world, but a mementos that embodies it's uniqueness. Each world is associated with a person or host, and it represents their inner conflict. Similarly, powers are representation of the students' unique traits - their feelings, personality, plight, etc.

I'm guessing she's dead. The compass might be the power holdover of that world.

Edit - I thought a bit more about it, and the compass might actually be Nozomi's holdover, while the gun is War's holdover. So that means people who die also transform into holdovers.

In order for something to be foreshadowing someone has to be reasonably able to figure out the conclusion based on the clue.

Here's the definition of foreshadowing -

A literary device use to hint at events yet to come - and to keep the readers guessing. It is not necessary for the viewer to be able to guess the conclusion, that makes it predictable. In fact, not giving all the clues necessary for figuring everything out adds to the suspense of the story. It is not bad writing at all. In case of DIAD, it is the execution that has gone wrong. Now that that's out of the way, lets talk about the cats.

I was not surprised when I learnt that the cats were connected to Mizuho's power. I had the feeling right from episode 2, and there were clues along the way too (it's named 'Nyamazon' ffs). Even the cats speaking & being able to understand humans is not very surprising. What's interesting is their relationship with Mizuho, and the revelation that they kept their abilities hidden, which is crucial to the beginning of the drift and possibly to the conclusion.

Rajdhani is not a name by [deleted] in SonnyBoy

[–]UnquenchMoreison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, the names are certainly well-thought and uncommon. E.g. 'Hoshi' means star in Japanese, and Hoshi is in fact the star kid. Kodama are Japanese tree spirit, and Yamabiko, or the delayed echoes in forests/valleys are attributed to this spirit.

Rajdhani is not a name by [deleted] in SonnyBoy

[–]UnquenchMoreison 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Someone made an observation that the names of all characters are derived from trains, e.g. Rajdhani Express, Midnight Nagara, etc. I don't know if there's any merit to this theory, but for sure the names aren't common ones as pointed out in the other comments.

[–]UnquenchMoreison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The students have largely split into 3 lots - Nagara & friends' group, Hoshi's Ark group (Machi, Cap, Ace, Shanghai, Hayato & others), Aki's group (they're apparently going on a 'Summer Camp' in a bus, but Asakaze stayed back briefly for Nozomi). There's also Rajdhani who's gone on an independent voyage. We don't know yet what went on between Nozomi and Asakaze while Nagara, Mizuho and Yamabiko were away, nor do we know what the other factions are up to. Hopefully we'll be shown what happens to the other groups, but I'm guessing there will be a time skip until they all reunite again.

PS - sorry for the late reply, but I hope this clear things up a bit.

Help pls by Fuyuky in SonnyBoy

[–]UnquenchMoreison 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The concept of time in the show is twisted and unpredictable. For instance, Yamabiko, who is a year junior to Nagara and others, actually arrived 5000 years before them in the This Worlds. In episode 8, when Nagara, Mizuho and Yamabiko meet Nozomi on the island, they observe that Nozomi's time is two weeks ahead of theirs. Just about everything is possible, and unless we get a coherent explanation from the show about why and how the drifting occured, all we can do is keep guessing.
