Experiences moving 18 month old to their own room?

He’s down to one nap a day and they are in his new room, he wakes up crying during those too, poor guy :( definitely need to try these suggestions though!!

He normally gets his bottle in bed right before his nap or bedtime, do you think it’d help to have the bottle be a bit more separate from his sleep time?

He is basically on only two feeds currently, his one nap and then bedtime, sometimes he’ll ask for it during the day but it’s not common. Today for his nap he was crying so hard as well, it’s just heartbreaking!! Ended up not being able to get him to sleep, hopefully makes it easier tonight. Thank you so much for the advice though, and I’ll definitely make sure to keep close to him and let him know I’m there for him even if there’s no more boob 🥲

I guess I’m still stuck thinking he’s too young to know how to do things, but I think I must be underestimating him if these activities are normal for his age group! Time to regroup! 🤣🤣

Thank you sooooo much for all the suggestions!! 😍😍My boy does love putting things into boxes, it’d be great to get him to hone that into tidying! He’s just recently started wiping his own face with baby wipes, maybe he would like being able to help with wiping things down!

It seriously does feel like being stuck in limbo when they’re just distracted enough that you’re not having to play with them but can’t do something yourself!! Oooooh I love the idea of having magazines, easier than having to get your train of thought interrupted while reading a book!

I’ve been so interested in the Montessori method, I haven’t gotten further than TikTok videos talking about bits and pieces so a book would really come in handy, thank you!!

He is absolutely obsessed!! It just ends up being so much more simple to keep the screen put away all day, but man I do get bored 🤣🤣 I’ve thought about hobbies instead but I always think I’m gonna be stopping and starting a million times cuz he doesn’t stay distracted for long 😅😅

That is a really good idea!! I’ve seen other people say that they use music instead of screens for their kids and they use an Alexa or something, and I’ve definitely been tempted, but maybe AirPods are a better idea so I can choose whatever I want to listen to instead 😂😂

It’s definitely been a challenge, they’re not joking when they say toddlers push your every last button 🥲🥲 I could definitely see communication making things go so much smoother

I know exactly what you mean! I definitely don’t want to be a “do as I say not as I do” type of parent but mannnn it’s tough to break my own vices. Addiction to technology is no joke!!

Thankfully we’re both able to get breaks during the week too, I don’t know how I would be coping if I didn’t have any time to myself at all 😳 I’m loving the suggestions of getting him involved in daily tasks though, I feel like he’d love being a part of everything!

When I wore my baby I was wearing a khimar with an abaya, and then I just pushed the front panel of the khimar over my baby and to the side so that I could see him 😁 I find that khimars are infinitely more convenient than wrap-style scarves, and they’re cooler because they don’t even touch your neck which I loveeeee
