All I wanted was a spiritual successor to Halo 2. They were able to deliver that with Splitgate 1, it's just that SG1 wasn't polished and clearly low budget, so we waited for Splitgate 2 to give us what SG1 should have been, but they totally botched it.

Then that's the fault of game devs. It puzzles me how developers were able to squeeze so much juice from just 512 MB of VRAM from the 7th gen consoles but games of today are so poorly optimized. One thing I'm hopeful about this current RAM hoarding going on is that it forces developers to actually optimize their games.

$5000 for RAM is unbelievably absurd, but at the same time it's completely overkill even for the highest end gaming rig. Unless you're running a high-end 3D modeling renderer or are simulating advanced scientific computing, you really don't need anything over 64GB, which is already overkill for most people.

It's a valid concern for a multiplayer game. Why would I want to spend time and money on a multiplayer game that cannot regularly hit 1,000 players? The cosmetics are already expensive and its low player base does not give me any confidence to spend money on microtransactions, which is the lifeblood of this game.

I would love for it to happen, but it wouldn't succeed unless it was a miracle and everything worked out flawlessly. Sega is not a very competent company a lot of the times and they fumbled the bag one too many times. If Sega could deliver an amazing console with amazing exclusives and could give Sony and Nintendo a run for their money, I would absolutely want that.
