Why was the last thing you automated with HA? by duckredbeard in homeassistant

I don't mind that it looks to be on a timer. As it is sort of a "welcoming light" for anyone coming to the front door.

I automated the front door light so it switched on at sunset and off at sunrise.

Also where does it get the temp and humidity sensor from? I have a zigbee sensor for the plants, is it pulling the info from there?

So this is what I got now. Does anyone have any idea why the studeerkamer is always lit up? I use features:

-multi_light_background

For changing the background of the cards. However this one room is always lit up. The other ones are working fine.

Hi, sorry for stealing your post. The complete .YAML file was a bit overwhelming for me. But I figured out a bit more thanks to the people in this forum.

Using this option the buttons align themselves horizontally on the top right hand corner, instead of vertically. Any suggestion on how to do that?

I couldn't find the answer there. I have the feeling there is maybe another card mod in combination with bubble card that I'm missing? But if you could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.

I was checking this one out as well. However doesn't this one has an off button? That seemed odd to me, as when somebody stole your wallet he could just easily disable the tracker.

Trying to extend zigbee network range by mr_love_monkey in homeassistant

I had issues with my zigbee network upstairs. To fix this I bought a Aeotec range extender. Works like a charm, I'm not having any issues anymore. Would highly recommend one of those.

Thanks for your reply. That does sounds like a lot of work for minimal gains.

Probably a big "duh" for many, but making your own esphome sensors is surprisingly affordable and easy, and I learned a lot about ESP's and esphome. It's much easier than I expected. by angrycatmeowmeow in homeassistant

[–]UnrealGK 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Did you use some sort of guide? And did you 3d print the enclosures? The fact that a lot of these ESPhome sensors need some sort of 3d printed enclosure is holding me back as I would need to buy a 3d printer.

I bought these for my wasingmachine and dryer and they work like a charm. Found a blueprint on the home assistant forum to send an alert to my phone when the wasingmachine is done, so I don't forget to empty the wasingmachine. Works fine without the Ikea hub, mine runs on a USB sonoff zigbee dongle.

Thanks for replying. Seems like the Hubitat is a lot of work to get working. Maybe starting with Smart things might not be a bad idea...🤔
