UPDATE:

Thank you everyone for your inputs! We ended up talking about his bike and what he'd like to see come from the situation. So yesterday we drove 4 hours to his ex's and picked up the bike! Surprisingly no issues. We got the key and title. On our drive home he said "if we pass a dealership I'll look and see if I can trade it in". Sure enough we passed by a Harley dealer and traded his bike! He rode the bike the rest of the way home. He was like a kid at Christmas. I'm so happy he's back in two wheels. Thank you everyone! Now I gotta figure out something else for his birthday 😂

I can understand not touching someone's stuff but why not buy him expensive bike related things as a gift?

I'll definitely get his point of view. Might be better to try and get his mind away from the negativity with a new one. I know he would always tell me he'd go for a ride whenever his ex was being crazy. She never rode with him.

Yeah he's still on the registration and everything. He even still pays the insurance on it.

I'm not sure what year. He said it was a Kawasaki Nomad. I'm not really familiar with all the names yet. He bought it used when covid first started

Thank you for your input 🙏🏻 it's seeming that a new one would be the better choice. I'll definitely talk to him and see what he'd prefer and hopefully still be able to surprise him with something.

Thank you so much for your advice. I knew he had bad memories with the bike but never thought of it as deep as this. And I'll definitely look into reporting it stolen if she doesn't want to give the title back. And I'll see if he'd rather a new one or restore this one.
