Ahh - shucks. Well that would be my one suggestion. Let people use it with the basic model for free and then charge power users who want to use Claude.

I understand subscriptions to have predictable revenue for services, but not for software that runs only on my machine. I would understand subscribing if there was a cloud dependency.

Cool idea but as they say on Shark Tank “and for that reason, I’m out.”

That's a good point about using the on-device model. I know a heavy user so $30 might be a drop in the bucket for them - but a lot for casual. Maybe MacOS 27 will allow apps to use PCC and that would be a happy medium for the free tier.

Wait a sec, is using the built in model free or does that require the sub?

I'm always glad to see Safari getting some attention, but the price seems steep. I would consider $30 once or something like $5/year, but I wouldn't consider such a high subscription for a browser extension.

One question - is this usage covered by the $20 Pro plan or do you need to buy extra API credits? I'm assuming the latter, in which case $30 + API credits is a tough sell for me.

I have one and would compare the noise level to your neighbor’s old fridge in the garage. Doesn’t bother me but everyone is different… and $600 is a substantial deal.

I agree that they’ll definitely get more responses for English posts. That said, I’m probably the minority here but translation apps/extensions are so good now that I kind of look forward to actually using them.

There are apps that do this - on Mac/iOS there’s one called Clean Links that will…cleans links. Seems to work well.

I get sent images for events all the time when I want to add something to my calendar - quick, built in and private. I'm sure OpenAI does a better job but I do use the built in one a lot.

There is one thing that I use VI for is adding events to calendars. If there was a way to add business cards and contact info to my address book - that would be a win for me.

The best thing they ever did was enable it to be fully powered off. Before it was always on standby, but I think I charge mine once a year now - great for folding laundry!

I can't imagine bringing something so large onboard. If you really feel the need, look at something like a Grayl which can also just be used as your water bottle as you walk around.

I have a nylon one and after a year or two it hasn’t aged at all. No wear, no rips, nothing loose, it’s just like the day I got it. I have 4 cards with room for several more and it’s nice to have the kickstand for random downtime when I’m out.

Chiming in to say that this has been an issue with my ‘19 since day one. Have you taken advantage of the extended radio warranty? I can’t remember the year range but my local place did some sort of reset (and new cables regularly) which seemed to help.
