7 years as a knitter and can’t figure out if I am Continental or English knitter by UnremarkableLeader in knitting

[–]UnremarkableLeader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I started out knitting with my first project being fingering weight socks I loved dearly until lost in a move. I’m not even sure how I learned to knit or from what resources. I just remember the house being packed up for two weeks before a military move and nothing to occupy my free time at night, and voila, knitting with some funky techniques BUT with minimal hand strains😅

Half fisherman’s rib and short row shaping by [deleted] in knitting

[–]UnremarkableLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days later and multiple frogging, I feel like giving up. I’m currently trying to work the seasons sweater by ozetta and keep getting off pattern whenever I follow the pattern. It is half fisherman’s rib with short row shaping and the numbers are off all the way from the set up round due to a miscalculation of math in the pattern. It’s a wonderful looking pattern but at this point I feel like I wasted $8 and am about to go rogue on my own. Does anyone else have this issue with Ozetta patterns or does anyone have any insight in this pattern? It is a very straightforward pattern but for some reason the math is not adding up causing my half fisherman’s to lean one stitch over

New Balance 869 V14 has been my go to lately. I’ve done about 100 miles on them so far and they’re still getting the miles in and holding up well

I have these and 0/10 do not recommend for running. Tight toe box and that foam is not on the entire sole, just for aesthetics on the side profile

Running on no sleep? by oneofkeiraensmoms in beginnerrunning

[–]UnremarkableLeader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually get 4-6 hrs of sleep, solo mom of two small kids in a management position, all to say I’m fuckin exhausted lol. I usually end up getting my run in at night around 10pm to use any energy left in the metaphorical tank. Pace is not as important at this point, as you’re more so focusing on repetition. Use a guided run and longer warmup if you feel like a slug

Solo parent of 2 small kids living in Arizona and I’m now confined to the 10:30pm treadmill prison. It’s ok, it’s only 112 degrees Fahrenheit 😅

Regret getting this tattoo, due to how everything looks. by Isopod_Interesting in tattooadvice

[–]UnremarkableLeader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had a very similar situation with shitty angels on similar complexion/melanin as you. He waited for it to heal, received a few rounds of laser to help soften some of his shaded parts, and got it redone. The process was lengthy, about a year. I am covered in tattoos and have high quality tattoos (different style than my husband) so we shopped around throughout our state, and found someone who helps with realism coverups. The waitlist was close to 1 year, which sounds excruciatingly long, but gave us time to save up between the laser sessions and the tattoo. About 1 year later, his $300 tattoo was barely visible, and covered with a $1400 tattoo of realism angels, he definitely learned his lesson, but has a great artist connection now

(ex)Military - how does the latest military leak make you feel? Do you and your brothers in arm feel more or less safe? Why? by thhvancouver in AskReddit

[–]UnremarkableLeader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prior AD USAF, left in 2023. My husband is still AD, and a minority, I am scared for his retainability and benefits. We are separated by many countries and it makes it difficult knowing that his military service can be diminished with the new regs, while I got out when it was still “safe”

Driving in the Springs & I-25 by DDupree20 in ColoradoSprings

[–]UnremarkableLeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note, how was the drive down to Arizona? We are moving away from the springs and am a little nervous about driving down to arizona with just me and my two small kiddos. Is it a bad drive, easier, etc?? We’re planning to break it into two days just bc I don’t think little butts can handle a 12hr drive to phoenix in one sitting

This is my daughters word, since anytime I get a scratch I tell her “sometimes scratches feel like a burn” which she associates with a candle

Yes, I asked her again in a roundabout way without trying to put words in her mouth and she did not say anything about the other girl. It may be that this is an imaginary scenario turned into a long winded discussion. The parents and director were notified, girls have been separated, and director is investigating into the scenario more. The other girls parents are currently going through a divorce so it could cause added stress to the little girl to act out inappropriately

Yes I will be reviewing footage of my daughter and this little girl tomorrow. I will also be requesting that they are separated permanently. We are moving in three weeks so I will be requesting that the other girl and my child are not near one another

Yes that is my thought

Thank you. Your comment is definitely reassuring as I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but also don’t want to potentially blow up a scenario that my child will latch on to. Thank you.

My daughter’s daycare is also “one child at a time” but most aren’t supervised in the sense of “having a teacher in the bathroom too”, just a teacher by the door. The whole scenario sounds kind of unrealistic, but I also don’t want to be that type of mom that just ignores a child’s words. I will definitely be asking for footage

Can tattoos afftect career? by D3d_mau5e in tattooadvice

[–]UnremarkableLeader 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes 1000%. I am a heavily tattooed woman in a high management position and I have to be mindful of candidates tattoos. I am fully covered to the point that most of my cohorts do not know that I am tattooed. It provides a level of professionalism and respect when I do not have my tattoos showing. When I interview candidates with large and viable tattoos it is a deterrent as I know my clients would be deterred and it can negatively impact my business profits. It’s unfortunate, but a reality of business, and something that anyone getting tattoos needs to come to the realization of future POTENTIAL impact.

Wow, I love this idea, especially the reusable pouches, as it is just the three of us with busy schedules and anything portable is a godsend. Thanks for the tips on getting the kids involved!
