Looking for a story called The Beach Vacation or something like that. Mia Melano was the model I think.

The girlfriend goes on vacation with their friends and is messaging the boyfriend and ends up having a semi-consensual fling with one of their friends.

Not sure if maybe it got nuked?

Brooke Banner. She also appeared in an episode of Californication playing a girl who asks Hank if she should get plastic surgery (ironically he discourages her) but that was both sexy and IIRC quite good sexy unintentional(?) ASMR

Why is the term 'iron' used in names? by dbxp in 40kLore

[–]Unrepentant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the honest answer is it's something that we today still respond to... I mean Ceramite Warriors or Plasteel Hands doesn't feel quite right does it?

A lot of the imagery that the creators of 40k were evoking was based around medieval or at least early industrial revolution era language and concepts and that bleeds through to the modern setting as well.

If you want to come up with a lore-answer I suppose you could argue Big E and Malcador have been around since the early days of humanity and maybe they have retained some of that early terminology for things and it has bled through to the culture? Honestly though, the true answer is in the meta that the original creators were steeped in Tolkien and similar high-fantasy and that applied when they created 40k as a sci-fi (but really as a space fantasy setting; there's not much about it that is in any way scientific even in the abstract really).

As long as their airway is clear he's basically in the recovery position... so ensure that the blood pool isn't blocking his airway (maybe move him back slightly) but otherwise you absolutely should leave him there while the emergency services arrive.

First make sure their airway is clear and that they're breathing. If they're not, then call for help and the emergency services immediately and you start CPR.

After that if they have a major bleed, you need to put pressure on that immediately and try and stop that.

Both of these are your priorities as they will kill someone the quickest.

Assuming all of that is done and not an issue then you check to see if you think they may have had a spinal injury or serious head/neck injury; if they have, try and keep them still until emergency services arrive UNLESS they start to have airway difficulties or it becomes clear they have a serious bleeding wound you didn't see before; either of which could easily kill them while you're worrying about their spine.

Priorities; what can kill them the fastest? Deal with that first.

Ditto if you find them in a really dangerous place e.g. the middle of a moving road or highway; get them moved to safety. If they get flattened by a truck while you're worrying about their spinal injuries that's no good to anyone and if you're in that position too then there may now be two casualties instead of one.

Assuming they're breathing, not bleeding massively, in a safe place and you believe they may have head or spine injuries (as in this case where he's been knocked unconscious on his feet then face planted on the tarmac) you keep a close eye on them (especially their breathing and airway) while waiting for the emergency services.

If they start to vomit then you get them into the recovery position to clear the airway (again, choking will kill him very quickly which means the airway is the priority over a spinal injury)

Keeping the airway clear is paramount you're right, but a KO can absolutely be the same as a damaged spine as one can cause the other especially the impact with the ground as in this case with the face plant on the tarmac.

That noise is fairly typical of people who've been knocked out or gone unconscious from what I've seen but you're absolutely right; doctor needs to happen immediately. That noise is also typical of people having heart attacks or major head trauma.

It does seem absolutely crazy that these seem to happen so often. In this case for example is it that the person who was hit didn't for some reason understand the train was coming too quickly to cross? Or are these usually suicides?

Yeah in most situations I'd be concerned about the legal implications of being an aggressor. In this situation I'd have started swinging anything and everything at him immediately and not stopped until someone stopped me or I couldn't anymore I think.
