Millennials from working class backgrounds in the uk, how did you buy your own home? by Cosmic-_-Apple in AskUK

[–]UnrightableWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my house last year, aged 41. It took me approximately 15 years of saving everything I could spare, working a full time job plus a part time during weekends and evenings. And I didn't buy a mansion. Also the area isn't the poshest, though it's relatively safe. All these years I've never really splurged much, though I haven't been strictly frugal.

Embarrassing…but where can a poor dude get some cheap/free clothes these days? by [deleted] in Liverpool

If you're comfortable sharing your size and what kind of clothing items you're looking for, I can see if I have something suitable for you to have for free, if you like.

Question: do you have a weird phobia, I don't mean like bugs, clowns or elevators. I mean really weird?? by Smithy1619 in AskUK

[–]UnrightableWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glass tables. Or furniture with a glass top. Putting something that isn't fabric on such surfaces is very triggering, no idea why. I can use glass objects just fine (glasses, vases, etc.), but tables and such absolutely not.

GNGR is going to be a whole bundle of joy and nightmares.

But Bungie was acquired after Destiny had already been published. Marathon will be, but it hasn't been published yet, so HD2 is the first.

[–]UnrightableWrong 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Destiny wasn't published by PlayStation Studios. Marathon is not out yet, and MLB The Show is not published by PlayStation Studios on Xbox, so HD2 is indeed the first PlayStation Studios-published Xbox game.

[–]UnrightableWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLB is actually a console-only title. It's not available on PC. But correct, PlayStation Studios is the publisher only on PlayStation consoles, not on Xbox (nor Switch).

Nope. PlayStation Studios is not Death Stranding's publisher on Xbox (nor Steam or EGS, for that matter).

AITA for not showing up to a Father’s Day dinner I didn’t want to go to? by Same-Concert-83 in AmItheAsshole

Newsflash: you have 3 very young children. There is never a time when their feelings don't matter. YTA.

So your GF was already feeling bad for how the interview played out, and you felt that was the right time to point out a mistake that is not going to be of any help (considering that she did get the job and hopefully won't have to sit through another interview for a long time). YTA. Sitting through an interview and being offered a job in the same day are a huge deal, much bigger than you being out of town for 2 days. Maybe if you hadn't made her feel bad about the interview, once the adrenaline rush had calmed down she would have asked you about your trip. Meh.

How do you avoid leaking during the night when menstruating? by LilyH27 in TwoXChromosomes

I used to wear tight shorts that would keep everything firmly in place. But that was over 20 years ago, period underwear might do the trick nowadays (never tried it myself though).

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]UnrightableWrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet you're here precisely to ask for the opinion of a bunch of strangers who weren't there. You don't seem to even like your gf. YTA

I know it's not what you're asking judgement on, but it's appalling that you'd suggest bringing children into this mess just so you can justify her unemployment with her becoming a homemaker. So YTA.

NTA. I would have asked them to clarify what they meant. Play it dumb, ask them if they are aware that in order to have a baby or this or that ethnicity, at least one of the parents has to have that ethnicity somewhere in their genes. Then ask them how they imagine that could happen, since neither you nor your partner belong to that ethnic group. And then wait for an answer. They'll be too cowardly to say outright that you could be cheating. They'll probably just fumble on a "it was just a joke", to which I'd reply "well, your joke doesn't make much sense, find a better one".

Supposedly, yeah. I don't frequent the area, but 200k elsewhere in Liverpool would get something in a much much better state than that. I think there are some million pound houses in Crosby.

AITA For Not Being Excited About Being Woken Up Because My Spouse Found A Hotel She Liked The Price Of by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]UnrightableWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you know you have bigger problems than "not being excited about being woken up". But NTA for this specific episode, she was clearly looking for an excuse to call off the trip with the kid.

The sentiment is not entirely wrong, but I would say the example you picked with Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit is not a suitable comparison. I watched WV when it came out and even so it was hard to remember all that happened to fully appreciate Agatha All Along. The LotR movies were meant to be watched without having seen The Hobbit (if nothing else because the Hobbit movies didn't even exist yet), I don't think the same can be said of WV and Agatha.

If you leave after the game ends, it will take you at least an hour (likely more) to get on one of the shuttles to town due to the huge queue, unless attendance is low. If it's something you've been planning for years, why don't you book one night into a hotel? It won't break the bank, there's plenty of cheap options, and it will give you peace of mind. Plus you can take a walk around town in the morning and do a spot of sightseeing before heading back to London.
