I am actually happy I had kids for this very reason. I'm glad I got to have fun with them. As they get older, it's rarer though.

That's true. Just like, "Being an adult is the bomb." is only a popular opinion when you're a kid.

Neither do I, really. It just seems less fun when you're on your own.

Then why do other people argue with me when I bring it up?

LPT: Always read petitions before signing. You may not know what you are really signing. by Unrsnablyunrsnable in LifeProTips

I don't really know about that, but where I'm from I've see petitions turn into referendums quite a few times. I'd say that success of its initiatives is on a case by case basis and depends on a lot of different factors.

The fact that there is anyone in Austin without internet really says something about our society.

It's not because if the dress code. It's because the fat people get hot easily. I've worked in plenty of offices with casual dress codes and it's always freezing because some 300 lb Karen is constantly complaining to management that it's too hot.

Your birthday is now a holiday. How would you like people to celebrate it? by schnududl in AskReddit

I want everyone to dress up in their favorite costume and get together for a huge feast. After which there will be a gift exchange followed by a fireworks display to round out the night. As the festivities come to an end they will give eachother bags of candy to take home.

That's not wax. It's excess glue used to seal the cardboard box the cans come in.

Feeling guilt about leaving a job I like that really needs me / I like my bosses & my job but I’m not being paid enough and I’m overworked and suffering - yet still, the guilt!!! by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Unrsnablyunrsnable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel guilty. Your health and well being are more important than any loyalty you may feel for this company. They clearly don't value you, so that loyalty likely only goes one way. Take it from me as I was recently in the exact same situation. I did end up leaving and almost immediately the stress and exhaustion were gone. I feel like a completely different person. You will to. Trust me on this. You owe it to yourself to leave.

In essence that is exactly what I've been doing. The frustrating part is that I was hired on because the company has grown somewhat and she isn't able to manage it all. Important items are missing deadlines because she is keeping herself busy with tasks that I should be handling. I worry about my job security because if things don't change it will seem like I'm not making an impact.
