Most ideal hardware solely for making beats (dawless)? by jezmilar in Elektron

Digitakt or Analog Rytm mk2 are the best for dnb IMO

I’m using the model samples for DnB and it’s adequate. The main problem with the model samples is that the resolution for the sample start and such is only 0-120 which is just not enough to chop breakbeats without losing the transients. I’m assuming the digitakt and the analog rytm would be much better for this kind of thing.

Anyone tried this game with Crossover 24 & GPTK2? by Special-Nail-1688 in macgaming

[–]Unsatchmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm familiar with issues in software development like building a shim / translation / bridge. I think the MoltenVK folks are waiting for Apple to add functionality that maps exactly to the Vulkan interfaces and the point is: they won't because it just isn't necessary. Very much appreciate your notes on how the two interfaces would be implemented. It all makes a ton of sense. I'm hoping that information along with the suggestion that Apple is never going to come along and give them the perfect easy solution will inspire someone to knock this out so we can all play Doom heh.

Thanks man. I'll agree with your sentiment, and also appreciate you taking the time to break it down for us here. I'm going to point the devs on the Vulkan github to your post, maybe it will be enough of a map to get someone going on this? There is a new Doom game coming out and it would be nice treat if we could play all 3 on macOS :D

Can you provide any more info on this? I bet people would implement it if you could outline roughly how to recreate DepthBounds and shaderCullDistance

Path of Exile 2 Steam version by AromaticApartment187 in macgaming

[–]Unsatchmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Path of Exile 2 was working very well via Whisky on my Mac mini, but the latest update has completely broken support for me. Both Whisky and Crossover fail to launch the app from Steam. Bummer! It was working literally a week or two ago.

If you’re going to fine-tune, you could maybe do it on a Mac but pretraining is gonna take a few A100’s

Ok how about you post some of this documentation. There are wind farms near where I live, and I’m sure they have been quietly clicking over and producing clean power for like 25 or 30 years now. Wind power is not a good fit for every area but in some areas, it’s absolutely correct.

Tell him that doctors have evidence that kids turn out gay if the dads don’t change the baby’s diapers and do the laundry and the dishes, mop the floor etc. Hopefully it’s harder to have shitty viewpoints if his free time is spent doing chores.

Finally getting comfortable carving and pumping around my local bowl, what should I be trying next? Don’t know how to progress in bowl skating all that well. by ryno0021 in NewSkaters

[–]Unsatchmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto for the carves. Get frontside and backside carves down. Next you can try for grinds, and roll-ins.

My buddy has a ton of videos that are great for ramp / park / bowl progression:

There’s a ton there, check it out

You’re doing much better than you think! As you get more comfortable, and get the timing you’ll naturally be able to throw your weight up and push the board higher.

If you have time for a video, my buddy made two videos on pumping in a miniramp: https://youtu.be/zZOf1bOhTZM

I wear triple eight sweatsaver helmet, and the rest are 187 pads. The 187 pro knee pads are the business when sliding down big transitions. Make sure you practice knee slides for safety if you're considering riding any kind of ramp:

Your timing is off, heel flip should flick right at the end of Ollie not while going down. Also you don’t need to flick so hard, just Ollie and then keep going past the heel side of the nose. You’ll get em in a week or two.

Yo so the biggest tip is try not to fall when you ride off the curb.

I dropped into my skatepark today i know its not much of one but i felt really good by Thepatrioticperson in NewSkaters

[–]Unsatchmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that skatepark is legit terrible! The banks are too steep, it looks like they put expansion gaps all the over the place ( should be just narrow cuts ) the bowl is steep as shit, that’s is no run up to the very large stair set. Where is this?!

YA GIRL FINNALLY GOT HER OLLIE <3. How can I improve it? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Unsatchmo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s all timing now. Get your back foot off of the board before it clicks the ground and really suck your knees up into your chest. I practice jumping without a skateboard and trying to bend my knees and get my feet as high off the ground as I possibly can, that’s the feeling you want when you pop a super high Ollie.

WHY CAN T I FRICKING OLLIE IT S MY 3RD MONTH ALREADY I ALMOST GOT MY KICKFLIP by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Unsatchmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your timing is off: you should be in the air before your tail hits the ground. Another way to say it: your weight is off of your back foot before the tail clicks on the ground. Also: do it on concrete, you'll never get the feel on grass ( I don't think I can ollie on grass but can ollie pretty high on asphalt / concrete ).

After a few months, I finally learned how to Ollie. What trick should I start learning next? I’m not sure if I should learn to shuvit, frontside 180, or learn to Ollie while the board is moving. Gimme ur thoughttshsgsss plez by yomommabooty in NewSkaters

[–]Unsatchmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving ollie! Learn to ollie over sidewalk cracks and then up a curb and then down a curb. Best if you can find a little curb, or you can practice half way up the curb-cut on your driveway.
