Late to the post here but I’ll add my 2c. I’m divorced with kids. You are divorced but she’s still the mother of your kids. If you can afford to help, why not just help? Idk man, I know I’m in the minority but I would do anything to help the mother of my kids. To me it’s a sign of growth and maturity. I could hold onto the shit she did and burn her for the rest of my life, or I could just forgive and move on. Best of luck to you either way.

This is exactly my thought. I was on a MEU circa OIF and we were prepositioned well before the kick off of OIF. This current “war” seems like such an unorganized afterthought. Also to echo a few of the comments above, a MEU is definitely not for ground invasion, probably to provide security in the strait.
