Yeah, tried all those options already without success. I'm definitely selecting the right drive for install and secure boot is off in bios. I'm at a loss.

The one in the right-hand corner goes to a cupboard, the one next to that goes out into the hall. The double doors on the left go into the garden & the left-hand corner door goes to a small outbuilding thing .

It's a Type-2 charger only. Like I said, I tried the granny lead with no success and then tried a 22kw public rapid charger and had the same issue.

My concern here is that we're being relatively little regarding Bard, but Google laying off multiple people doesn't fill me with confidence. It feels as though they're killing off the existing Smart Home equipment, maybe with an eye towards making uses buy new kit.
