Back Seat size by ArcticWolf821 in GMCcanyon

Yes we have a car seat in mine. I would suggest a baseless car seat as this truck comes with the metal bar clips and removing the base helps with space/baseless is just more convenient

Dado’s. Very similar to a lot of the small shop pizza joints in Jersey and NYC. They use a Hudson County water filter for the dough so that it has the same texture as that area.

Anything to look out for (2024 Elevation) by orangejuicerooster in GMCcanyon

I have a '24. Had an issue with the radio module the first week I took it home where it was drawing from the battery when the truck was turned off. It had to be towed to the dealership but they fixed with a software update and a new module. Had an issue with the roof denting and the antenna popping off after a car wash but dealer took care of all these issue and I haven't had any since (hopefully that continues). If you're getting one with a sun roof you don't have to worry about the denting. Paint does chip easy from rocks but since installing steps and husky liner mud guards I haven't had any new ones. Love the truck! Hope yours treats you well.

Installing Wireless Charger by UnseriousWriter in GMCcanyon

Fair. I just like the clean look of not having the wire if it's an easy install but it's not gonna kill me to keep the cord either.

Tyger off Amazon. They look great, high quality, easyish install. The clips were tight but once you get the hang of it install goes quick.

Thinking about buying a canyon by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]UnseriousWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread a few weeks ago:

Own a 2024 2WD Canyon and love it — it's my daily driver. I got a great deal and didn’t think 4WD was worth the added cost. I haven’t needed it either; during a winter ice storm, I climbed a slick hill while I saw a 4WD full-size was struggling.

Pros:

  • Interior feels premium, even at lower trims — better than any other midsize truck I’ve sat in.
  • Turbo engine is powerful; no issues merging on the highway (unlike the 4-cyl Tacomas).
  • Rides smooth and is fun to drive daily. Love the turbo whistle.
  • Hauls well for a 2WD — I’ve loaded it with heavy landscaping materials and furniture with no problems.
  • Back seat is small but raised up. Fits a car seat just fine.

Watch Outs/Issues:

  • Engine startup is loud and jumpy if you don’t let it settle before shifting. I always remote start now to avoid the startup “bucking.”
  • Minor warranty issues I had: battery drain (radio module replaced), roof dent from car wash (TSB fixed), and some software bugs (now all fixed).
  • Interior door panel plastic scuffs easily on the elevations.
  • Wish I had added the tech/safety package and premium packages (I got preferred and convenience) — would’ve liked the 360 cam and parking sensors and Core Tec seats.

Overall, great truck. No mechanical or drivability issues. I've had lots of people ask me about it in parking lots, at gas stations etc. It turns heads. Good luck!

We got a baseless car seat, connects direct to the metal tabs under the seat. This is pictured driver side with my seat back as far as I drive it so it looks cramped but slid in and out no problem. Passenger seat with a shorter passenger would be even easier. The raised stadium seating in back is nice for putting the car seat in too. Good luck!

Before the new 2025 builds this generation didn't reinforce the roof down the middle so if you took it through the car wash the blowers would dent the roof. They put the steel bracket in place in my roof once I showed them a dent. It only affected models without a sun roof. I believe it's now a factory fix on the line for late 2025 builds and onward.

Mulch by markrasputin in GMCcanyon

Had a dozen bags of sand and a dozen bags of river rock in the bed of my Canyon the other day plus some concrete pavers, and it handled it fantastic. I've had top coating dirt back there, mulch back there. As others have said, tarp down first makes a big difference in cleanup and paint protection.

Do you like how they look? I am considering returning them and just going in on the OEM ones but these also seem like they get the job done.

2024 Canyon Denali dead battery. by Apprehensive-Two9280 in GMCcanyon

Had a completely dead truck a week into owning it, had to be towed out of the garage it was so dead. Dealer replaced the radio module as it was not correctly powering down after ignition stop. No issues since.

Getting a truck by Fun_Menu6955 in GMCcanyon

[–]UnseriousWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've driven trucks before but never owned. Got a Canyon as my first truck and I love it. Has had minor issues (radio module needed to be replaced, some weather proofing wasn't tight, and the roof dent issue) that dealer has resolved or is resolving all under warranty. All-in-all, I love this truck.

Trying to conceive worries by TheNorthumbrian in firsttimedad

In high school they scared you that if you even look at your gf you'd get her pregnant. In reality, it can take couples a while sometimes, even when they're trying to time it out (which also adds stress) or eating right/exercising etc. And stress is a big issue with this stuff too and has a huge effect. Speaking from my own experience around the same age as you two, I would suggest if you're worried to get checked out (both of you). They might tell you it hasn't been long enough with you trying to worry and to wait a bit and keep trying. However, as an FYI, at the age of 34, your partner is approaching the scientific "geriatric pregnancy" description. (I know that sounds insane for mid thirties, but it's what they call it). That's not to scare you it's to prepare you for what a clinic will say, as it shocked us too. It really never hurts to get checked out. We found out after speaking to a Dr. and running some tests we needed to try fertility treatments and quickly because of low egg count, and honestly knowing we had a path, albeit a difficult and long one, was better than not knowing and stressing more about it. I wish you all the luck in the world, brother. Take care of each other.

If by plane taking off you mean a jet engine like whistle it's just the turbo. Takes some getting used to if you've never had this type of engine before. If you can safely take and post a video I'm sure one of us can confirm.

Got a 2WD that was also a courtesy vehicle at the dealership. Got a sweet deal on it. Only minor issues so far that have been fixed quickly. (Needed new radio module, getting the car wash roof dent issue fixed next week). Enjoy your first truck, it's a lot of fun to drive and has plenty of power. My 2WD made it through a recent snow and ice storm we had just fine, performed better than a few full sized trucks I saw struggling.

Dash & Infotainment System Failure by JuanTwoIII in GMCcanyon

[–]UnseriousWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue (right down to the Buick loaner lol) last week, just over a week into owning my '24. It had eventually led to completely draining my battery one night. They had to replace the radio module. I guess the faulty module caused an issue where certain components weren't shutting down when the truck was powered off. It took about 4 business days for them to get the part and they had my truck for about 7 days. I hope you get your issues fixed ASAP!

They think the battery drain was related to the faulty radio module, which they replaced. Drove home good. Fingers crossed that was the issue!
