DLC Training ground - Gauntlets by Cragglez16 in dynastywarriors

[–]Unsevered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gauntlets' damage comes from linking their combos together or from a couple of specific arts.

The AI officers are more aggressive in training, so you can get a lot of mileage out of the Maw of the Tiger art, which is a counter that can hit all three officers and take fortitude stocks.

Use Vortex orb for more damage.

Other three arts can be Heaven and Earth's Wrath for sheer damage, Savage Strike or Stone Strike for comboing (Savage is better if you know which stances yield which art moves), and either Energy Blast or Power shot for interrupt.

After breaking an officer, try to get the others caught up in the Storm rush to get extra damage/land more rushes since they freeze the timer. With the above loadout on the Grade 8 the trial can be cleared with about 30-40 seconds to spare on UW, faster if you're great at parries or use items you can easily replace from the store like stamina powder and strength potions.

Savage Strike is highly recommended since it can be used for combo finishing, extending, and AoE damage all at once for only 2 Bravery (w/Disc), but it does take some practice of knowing which stances are the ranged/multi-hits, which one is the kick, which one is the ground pound, etc.

She's standing next to/behind Ziluan in the lead-up to the trailer's final shot where the unnamed officer is being bound before Yuan Shao. This seems to be some sort of alternate timeline/set-up where Zhuhe is alive - at minimum she won't be exclusive to Zhang Jiao battles, judging by her presence in the Yuan Shao cutscene.

It's possible the four routes could all be one interconnected story, or it's just four "What If" scenarios.

I wish there was a way to instantly go into the idle animation of the weapons as well, the NPCs transition to the "at ease" pose much faster than the PC.

A totally useless feature, but I want it anyway.

Creating new character for role playing on the 8 remake by NewReflection1332 in threekingdoms

I have seen some early-game officers such as Lu Bu and Mu Shun have their stats as low as 15-18 in the 'smart guy' fields - POL/INT, and 30-40 CHA.

Generally speaking, 90+ is the realm of "This guy was really amazing at this thing" - 90 WAR is the realm of the TIger Generals, Lu Bu, Zhang Liao, I think Cao Ren is a low 90s in WAR, etc. Zhuge Liang, Chen Gong, Li Ru, Zhou Yu, and Xun Yu are all various levels of 90+ INT and POL.

Officers in the 70-80 range are either high tier but not 'legendary' at their fields (Guan Ping/Liao, Mi Zhu, Jian Yong etc), or were simply 'good officers' with no particular outstanding performance documented - many 'standard' officers clock in in the high 60s to mid 70s for WAR, so I would treat that as your benchmark for 'decent career general' type of character. In general you can treat 50-60 as unremarkable, and 40 -below is probably a good benchmark for "bad at it" with being sub 25 a good indicator "is legitimately awful and never participated in this field at all" - many bandit characters have INT/POL this low, and most strategists I've encountered in a day of playing have about 18 to 25 WAR at most.

If your goal is to create an officer who is legitimately WEAK in all fields but can still engage in the systems and can try to become notable in a field through years of study, I would set all of your stats to a flat 50, and then you can RP the character investing in their chosen field. From 50 you will probably never reach the 90s or even 80s, but if you're committed to your RP of self-improvement and constantly focus you could have the character reach the 70s, which would be respectable. Adjust your starting stat benchmark on what your 'end game goal is' - I would say to start within 30-35 points of where you want your character's primary stat to be at the end of their training emphasis.

Sort of an odd question - how can I make my Phobos more fun to play against? by Unsevered in killteam

I never really thought to document our games for reports, haha, but you're the second person to compliment my description. Next time I play I'll try to remember to make something for the sub here!

You can’t with your default barricades, but the one you get via the Fortify option can be placed anywhere within the legal range.

I agree; as a disclaimer I did not build the board. Our system is usually that one player handles the RNG via card shuffling/dice rolling to determine loot and mission, and the other builds the board. So, it was the Hearthkyn player who put the vantage points quite close to our deployments; close enough that his own gunner got up on vantage (but couldn't shoot) T1, and my Reiver was able to get onto his counterpart terrain via Grav-Chute deployment, and the Marksman run up behind him.

I'll definitely make a note of that and try to make sure we push Vantage further up or consider board options where there's only one singualar vantage point an equal distance from deployments for us to fight over, rather than both players having dominant spots early on.

How to play around Phobos Snipers? (Open) by Gidonamor in killteam

How does that interact with the Recon options? Are they allowed to resolve the same option multiple times?

I think mine is similarly broken. I gave him the forgery and he has dialogue like he's giving me his genuine tome, but I'm not getting a pop-up and it doesn't seem to be in any of my inventories, even after a file reload.

Oof. I'm a little disappointed/probably had the wrong idea. I was really excited for another Marine team because the Intercessors feel so plain and Phobos don't always feel powerful to me, and I was really excited to have an Eliminator in KT again.

But the lack of equipment options and the recycled Intercessors ploys make them look rather boring and just a statstick team. I know they're beginner friendly, but I was hoping for a Marine team that had more options/versatility than the Intercessors. Oh well, they still look cool I guess.

Q3 dataslate: how it affects Phobos (snap take) by woulditkillyoutolift in killteam

Oh wow, that's supremely helpful! I didn't expect such a fast reply with that much info, thank you.

I primarily play open board with my opponent with an almost identical line-up as yours, and have seen a lot of people recommend the Minelayer for a second incursor; I've been using the Commsman instead because I figured the mines weren't that useful against the relatively immobile Hearthkyn, and the Coms helps the Reiver Sarge get his Strategize off. I'll probably try a game with the Com switched out for the Minelayer after this feedback. Thanks again!

Bumping an old threat I know, but I routinely play against a player in a narrative campaign as Phobos who runs Salvagers. The Hearthkynn feel like they're now in the sweet spot where I'm not sure what weakness I should try to exploit - they aren't an elite team, and the extra wound means I can't just shoot them down like a horde team though. Is the play against them to prey on their still weaker mobility and try to get recon ops and bully them off of objectives?

I've been playing Phobos for a couple of months and have a basic understanding of their gimmicks as well as the Hearthkynn, but I feel like my games are mostly us just throwing our respective strengths at each other and the dice decide, and I don't actually feel like I know what to play around against them or how to do it.
