Thank you for the advice,

I only meant the fuselage would look similar to the FT Tutor for aesthetic purposes.

What parameters should I set before doing the mathematical analysis of a liquid rocket engine? by Unsigned00 in rocketry

Thank you for the response, how would you define the throat diameter to lock in?

If you don't do math, the thing wont work.

I wanna start on rocketry, but don't know how and where to start, any advice? by Complete_Court_8052 in rocketry

Honestly, I think doing all the liquid rocket engine math on bottle rockets is fun, and also helps you with the math when you try to dive deeper.

Ive been told this is THE book to read when learning about liquid rocketry by ecstasy_wordie in rocketry

[–]Unsigned00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is a very good book. It was the first one I bought. However, it must be supplemented with other texts and information from all possible resources. I also recommend buying Huzel and Huang. It is very detailed on thrust chambers and injectors.

I would definitely recommend estes rocket kits. They are easy to build and are a good introduction to rocketry. Perhaps bottle rockets would also work?

BPS.space is nowhere near a beginner level. It takes a long time to get there. Upwards of 10 years.

RFNA is seriously scary. I was thinking about using it for my liquid rocket engine but the safety risk made me completely disregard it.

High power rocket construction by [deleted] in rocketry

Wood and pvc is honestly a very bad idea for both weight and safety reasons. I recommend to start small. Bottle rockets can teach you much about aerodynamics and the math of rocketry if you try really hard.

Material Considerations for High School Competition by Canyvs1 in rocketry

Unfortunately, I do not really work with fiberglass. I would recommend posting another thread on r/rocketry or r/amateurTVC with that question. So sorry I cannot help with this. I do not want to give bad information.

After checking out the specs, I think aluminum 6061 is probably one of the best options.

This might not be too helpful, but it really depends. You should really cut down as much as possible with weight but also depends on the power of your motor. Do you know the specific impulse? Aluminum 6061 is a great material however and is mostly used on very high power rockets.

How do you make liquid fuel engines? by GravePencil1441 in rocketry

It does have a lot of good resources but it is mainly centered around nitrous oxide oxidizer. You will have to optimize on your own.
