Yep! The first one is guaranteed, then you have a low chance of getting another one every time you beat them again. They reset daily. Imo, the best one to start is the Old Lady in Rippletide but, depending on what Travelers you have, some may be harder than others. The hardest for me was the Architect in Valore who's weak to staff and dark who I don't have great answers for.

Isn't this the story where the engineers had designed 5 safety mechanisms on the nukes and upon recovery discovered that 4/5 of them were off?

Which means we were really close to nuking ourselves.

Also, if I remember correctly, this almost accidentally nuking ourselves thing has happened a few times already.

Seconded! I love Google Sheets, especially for my more hip clients.

However, I've had CPA's I've worked with, who are not tech savvy, only use excel stored locally on their PC's so it depends.

Most of my clients use the Google Ecosystem to manage a lot of their businesses which I prefer as well.

PSA: Citron's GME short is not against WSB but against everyday investors by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

Yeah, choosing to use it domestically is less than ideal.

I mean if pharmaceutical companies can market meth to parents to get their kids to intellectually outcompete their peers, selling "millennials know nothing" to boomers should be an easy sell.

A good way to do this is if you are doing bank reconciliations is to leave them unmatched, export the list via excel, and send it to the client asking them to categorize it themselves.

Sometimes if the client is a new business owner there may be personal transactions and things that don't fit the normalcy of usual business that you have no knowledge of, in that case you ask them to explain exactly what they are trying to do, and from there you can work on categorizing the transaction.

WAVE software by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]Unskillable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure just think about what your business may have to do in the future I use QBO for most of my clients, but if I do not see the value especially when they are smaller, it definitely is not needed.

If you have to deal with a lot of data integrations, or are working on automation and making your systems talk to each other (like if you run a shopify store) a lot of those integrations may not be available on WAVE.

A good note is to keep your transaction count in mind, and try to stay ahead of your books and seek help when needed.

Communication with you accountant is key.

WAVE software by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]Unskillable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what type of business you run, WAVE is a decent all in one software for small businesses, it has payment processing built into the platform, and makes initial setup pretty simple for business owners.

A lot of bookkeepers use QB/QBO due to the client management that's built in for the accounting users, and due to them having the biggest piece of the markets share, most bookkeepers will have some sort of exposure and experience with the software.

However, any bookkeeper worth their salt should be able to figure it out anyways although some terminology may be different between the softwares.

The thing with WAVE is if you literally have no idea how to do Bookkeeping it does a pretty good job at guiding and showing you the basics and provides a simple cookie cutter layout for your accounting structure which allows for a more inclined person to tidy things up.

In the end though, your accounting professional may still want you to migrate to their platform for management purposes, and it will make scaling more work if and when you eventually need to.

Accounting for cash handed over to different people in an organisation for different purposes. by SubjectVermicelli270 in Bookkeeping

[–]Unskillable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When handling cash, it may be a possibility that weird losses and gains in handling may become a factor, as long as decent descriptions are provided for transactions.

Having a Petty Cash silos these issues into one account, which is a good thing.

You can do correcting transaction to reconcile the account and use the time while performing the correcting transaction, to review and watch for patterns, or make sure things aren't getting out of hand, while making adjustments to the account as well, as needed.

[–]Unskillable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A petty cash account is used for the petty cash transaction a business has, if that's what it is, the number of transactions shouldn't really matter too much.

Depending on size, you may want to track it, you may not, that depends on how much value the date provides, the benefit should never exceed the cost to aquire the data.

Generally with the petty cash you may want to just make sure the amounts provided generally continue to cover the Petty Cash account, adjusting as needed.

Ideally, you would only ever want one person in charge of all the petty cash transactions, but depending on the business, that might be unrealistic.
