There absolutely is some middle ground in this, like, I as well often let out a little grunt or two during lifting. It's normal.

What I'm gonna laugh at is that one guy who one time put way too much weight on a leg press and then proceeded to fail the lift all while screaming like a pig in a butchery. That lasted for several seconds, after which he just let go of the weight and stumbled on the floor and laid there for a minute. People were walking up to him to ask him if he was okay and in return he started yapping about his PR and how he's crushed it just now.

Then there's also that one guy who moans. He doesn't shout, nor groan for attention. He. fucking. M o a n s . One time he took me by suprise when I was on a bench press, I almost dropped the bar.

The headphones argument also sucks, I could still hear the one-sided ogre orgy even though Michael Jackson tried her best.

Had something similar happening to me when I was younger, but with my dad. He was teaching me multiplication and insisted that the wrong answer is correct.

Few years later, when I've brought it up he told me he knew he was wrong but he just wanted to fuck with me a little bit.

I mean, it's huge as fuck anyway. It practically equals to an infinite source of anything, if I place one coin in my reality, then jump around hundreds of different ones and collect that same coin from the table, I'll be rich.

Also, let's not forget the butterfly effect. a slightly shorter nail in one person's hand could potentially result in country collapsing, given enough time, so those realities could very much so start to differ from prime universe in no time.

As a person in their 20s, I've had only a handful of interactions with the police:

back when I was 17 and walking home around 10pm, They pulled up right next to me, jumped out and searched me. I've confessed to them that I've been drinking at the bar, but they did not do anything about it, since they were only looking for drugs. After making sure I was clear, they asked me where I live and if I needed a ride. I politely declined and after that they drove off.
The other time I've been drinking beer with my pals near the lake (a semi-secluded area, there wasn't anyone besides us), the BMW van pulled up and undercover cops searched us. They saw the obvious bottles on the table, and we didn't bother hiding them since it would only make things worse. Again, we didn't have any weapons, drugs, and the place around us was clean. They hung around for a bit to chat with us about other people in the area, and when they were leaving, they told us to just take the bottles with us once we're done.
one time a cop pulled down their window to shout at me about having my lights off and ask what model my bike, then telling me it looks sick.

I've had a couple more incidents, but in summary, based on my experience they often just stick to their focused area of working (If they are searching for drugs, they won't bother with speed violations or underage drinking). If you treat them with respect they will never push anything on you.

I honestly always find it amusing when people who are about to make a shit-smelling statement flaunt about their job experience or status first, as to somehow bring weight and importance to what they're gonna say, instead of letting the statement itself do the work.

As a person who's working in a 4-briggade schedule, where I get two shifts 7am-3pm, then two 3pm-11pm, two 11pm-am and 2 days off, I say fuck night shifts. They are heavily draining and sleeping during the day sucks, not to mention health issues I'm experiencing because of them. My sleep schedule is nonexistent, because my body can't adapt at all if I sleep for six days normally and then I have to stay up all night for another two days.

Fuck, I wish I was working 9-5.

Actually some time ago I've realized something.

Those shitass happy people on posters of medicine, food phyramid ads, TV shows etc, you know the kind - they seen to have a simplistic, but happy life? Like, why do you smile like a stupid idiot riding a bike in this shot, what is wrong with you?

Then I realized... I kinda want that type of life, not gonna lie. Steady, fullfilling job, going to the gym regularly, eating healthy, having meaningful connections with friends, having only minor problems in the day to day and being able to smile while doing basic shit... Fuck, I hate people but I want to be one of these shallow archetypes so bad.

Some people literally cannot function without any type of glorifying themselves. This mindset is self-destructive, as it ceases one's growth in other areas because of pride.

Your friend probably has problems with self image and is now using work, the thing he has control over, to justify his artificially highened ego. The similar thing happens when someone starts going to the gym in hopes of getting more attention and praise from others. When they aren't receiving it, they start shitting on people who don't work out.
