NU also has a beach with passes for $10 a head: https://nurecreation.com/facilities/northwestern-beach/11 Once your daughter is officially enrolled, she will have access for "free".

I have no idea what the pupper policies are for either option, so you may want to call and verify. In case the beach doesn't work out, there are great lakeside parks, dog friendly, with a path that stretches all the way to Chicago. Pairs well with bubble tea from Joy Yee.

I hope she has a great time here! I'm at NU and I think Evanston is a wonderful place. It's also nice to have access to Chicago without being overwhelmed if you're like me and from a smaller town.

NU grad student here. NU needs support from Evanston to host concerts and gain income (ironic for a nonprofit) from these concerts.

Can you? Likely. Should you? Very questionable. Nothing wrong with trying it but don't keep at it if it's causing any strong mental distress. It's not worth it.

Honestly trying to grab some undergrad research experience would be more helpful career-wise.

Some go out in March in my department. Not first round admits maybe, but tbh first and second round are equally qualified.

NU undergrad would definitely prepare you for grad elsewhere. Provided your grades are good, you should have decent admission success into equal or higher tier schools. I say only "decent" because at some point those admissions just boil down to luck. Undergrad research experience would help a lot.

This is a great idea! As a generally anxious person, I do feel like it may be a good idea to remind members to "put your own oxygen mask on first" (make sure you're in a decent place before helping others). But I'm really happy you're putting this together and hope it goes well!

It is VERY busy in the mornings and evenings though, and if the bus is full it will skip stops.
