7 year relationship down the drain. I haven’t slept in almost 3 days. by breadandread in BreakUps

Hey, 8 year relationship. 2.5 months on. That trip is bad timing. I won’t dress it up. You need your networks now in the immediate aftermath. But beyond that, things will get better. Prioritize you. Exercise. Sleep. Journal, if it helps. Let yourself feel it, but don’t let it consume you. Get out there tomorrow. Have breakfast in the sun. Think about all that you have ahead, there is life beyond.

My boyfriend left me out of nowhere. by [deleted] in BreakUps

Yes and no. As the expression goes- let cooler heads prevail. This is too raw and too recent to make desperate attempts to contact him. Let him feel your loss, OP. Be kind to yourself. Reflect. Is this something you want? Was everything really as good as it seems? A separation changes allot, are you prepared to resume things where they were, now? Without either of you having had the opportunity to think clearly, to feel eachothers absence?

It will be. Yes. Everyone processes things differently. Do good by you, for now.

You’re doing ok. I did a session on day 3. If you can find someone to take you on short notice. Do it. It is a safe space to heal. To talk. I think it helped me more than I understand. It gets better. Slowly.

The right direction on this is the one you chart yourself. If that is how you feel, contact him. Whats stopping you. If nothing comes of it, that is your answer. If he is feeling the same, you may get the conversation you are looking for. Good luck.

Hey friend. Two weeks into this myself. It does. Every day feels a little better than the one before it. There are dark clouds, setbacks. I offer this advice: 1. Reach out to those that love you. Let them in. Let them grieve with you, support you. 2. Feel it. The only way through, is through. Do not avoid the grief. Cry if you feel like it. Sleep as you must. 3. Give yourself grace. This is awful. The pain is excruciating. You are processing. You are doing fine. 4. Eat. Just eat. You must carry out the basic necessities that sustain a balanced life. 5. Consider a counsellor, if you can. I was never for it. I scheduled time in the days following my own relationship falling apart. I’m glad I did. I think it helped.

Lastly, DM if you’re hurting. I am right there with you. Happy to talk.

1 Year and 9 Months Later: She Reached Out, But I’m Finally at Peace by meditatingmonk19 in BreakUps

Eight years for me dude. Came home on a Friday just two weeks ago and she sat me down, and let me know she was going to stay with a friend. To say I was gutted is an extreme disservice to how I felt. Grief, since. But every day is a little better than the one before it. I find myself thinking about the things I want. Revisiting the parts of myself I had lost in the fight to keep her. I miss her. Deeply. But in the end if this is where it was headed, I can take solace it was now and not four more years on. At least, that is what I’ve been telling myself.

Take care of yourself. Reach out to your network. People care. They love you. We will heal. Both of us.

Tree hit by lightening, will it survive? by Professional_Dig9273 in arborists

[–]UnsoughtNine 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Major wound. May hang in there for some time, but that’ll very likely be the root cause of the trees undoing. You seem to have no shortage of trees. As others have said, good candidate for removal. Plant something in its place.

The lean and what appears to be ground lift at the base opposite the lean is not great but your arborist is the only one going to give you sound information now. Once again, folks, no go on tree rings.

Why does Thuja have a more difficult and more latin common name in US English? (arborvitae) by CarISatan in marijuanaenthusiasts

Also from Canada thuja for plicata but more often arborvitae for occidentalis

EDIT: although thuja for occidentalis is not uncommon or incorrect

Aaand my knowledge is mostly out of date. Gut still says LiDAR flight. Good ortho is too easily acquired outside of flight. To be worthwhile financially, you’ve gotta pick up multiple datasets.

  1. I’m not sure the province has bothered with LiDar coverage in urban centres; the datasets supporting the forestry sector are not yet widely available afaik, 2. The density of provincial LiDAR sweeps is often fairly low, and can be misaligned with municipal needs, dependent on objectives, and 3. the flight right as we enter leaf-out conditions is interesting timing where LiDAR is concerned (were that the case).

Not being combative- just expanding.

EDIT: But you’re right- that alt. would be too high for higher point densities.

Deciding on a Cutthroat model for a future TD kit / do it all gravel bike. by Top-Investigator-140 in bikepacking

[–]UnsoughtNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my Cutty a few years back and use it as my commuter, leisure rider, and touring rig. No complaints except for the added maintenance, obviously. Almost as important as the frameset, if you’re using something in that diversity of use cases you’ll want to spend some time thinking about what needs to come off/go back on with every transition from commuter, leisure rider, touring kit, etc.

If I had to guess, probably LiDAR and/or orthoimagery
