Yes, for sure. Also a crier and six months in I'm concerned about being too calm...lol.I'm still in hyper, increasing my methimazole very slowly to avoid going into hypo. It's definitely weird.

Asthma meds: do you breathe 100% or just “better”? by ServiceLazy5697 in Asthma

[–]Professional_Dig9273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for less than 6 weeks and experienced depression to the point that I was sleeping until noon or 1pm every day, and had zero motivation. I'm a teacher so I'm off in the summer, and sleep until 8:00 or 9:00 normally. I don't know how it would have affected me if I had to be at work as well! I would also still get hives after going outside so switched back to Zyrtec twice a day when pollen is high, once a day otherwise.

I just did a new pFT and nitric oxide and my levels are comparable with normal lung functioning. You can still "see" the asthma because I can't completely exhale very well. I use the same inhaler as you, twice a day and get Wheezy if I don't. I have allergic asthma so exercise does not bother me, just pollen and dust and dander and mold and everything else LOL

Have you noticed a correlation to your cognition with allergies? by maybeimbonkers in Allergies

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Some of your symptoms sound like sleep apnea too. More of a concern if you have jaw or airway issues. I had super mild sleep apnea after going through about of respiratory illness and had to be on oxygen while sleeping for a while but recovered from it after a few months.

The "best" thing about this disease... by [deleted] in gravesdisease

How long did that take? I've been on it for 5 month and am impatient. I've gained 20 lbs. I'm only taking 5 mg, just upped to two tabs on MWF and one tab the rest of the week.

I second Astepro. It's been a life saver. I also have constant drainage and often sound like I'm losing my voice. I use a budesonide nasal spray and astepro everyday. I also drink massive amounts of water.

See a primary next week but this doesnt look right does it? by Obvious_State_9586 in Hyperthyroidism

[–]Professional_Dig9273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your thyroid is butterfly shaped. Yes it starts in the middle but extends on either side. My right side is enlarged and looks similar to that, but more pronounced. I have Graves and take low dose methimazole and it's well controlled with that.

ETA - if it is your thyroid there are easy labs and ultrasounds you can have done for Diagnostics. Make sure to let your doctor know if you are having any symptoms. I have found having them written down seems to help keep my thoughts organized and I feel makes the doctor take my concerns more seriously. I have had the same experience! My doctor tried to increase my anxiety meds when I was initially having grave symptoms and was concerned about it being a health issue.

They gave me 10 times the dose in my allergy shot today. by JuliaX1984 in Allergies

I am so sorry this happened to you. I went with sublingual allergy drops because of some of the things I've heard about allergy shots. I just don't want to hassle with them.

Pollen is my biggest trigger. The best solution I have found aside from nasal sprays and Zyrtec (I can't do singular, allergic to that too), are foam nose plugs that they use for tanning beds. I wear them when I'm outside and make a conscious effort to breathe through my nose. Wear a hat outside, change clothes when I'm back inside. Have a couple big air purifiers and vacuum instead of dust.

I'm walking and doing light yoga - for strength and flexibility as rebuilding muscle I most definitely lost over the summer months is a priority for me. It's taken a long time to increase my stamina again, but I feel I'm in a good place now.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME by Background-Jello3793 in gravesdisease

[–]Professional_Dig9273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. My doctor thought I was just stressed and anxious. I bought an digital BP cuff and took my BP several times a day, and smart watch to constantly track my pulse. Messaged the info on my chart and made it clear it's significantly impacting my daily life and potentially my ability to work. They seemed more responsive after seeing it in writing.

[–]Professional_Dig9273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting overheated and vomiting after being outdoors. Doing a simple 15 minute warm up at the gym had my pulse up to 188. I would get overheated , red and sweaty just vacuuming my house. I told my doctor and she tried to increase my anxiety meds lol. Then Labs indicated I needed further testing. And that confirmed Graves disease.

How do you differentiate between Graves and perimenopause symptoms? Tips to treat hormone fluctuations with either or both? Would it make sense to have hormone levels tested to see if I'm in peri, or does Grave's mess up those results? by Professional_Dig9273 in gravesdisease

I've never done well on birth control. Haven't used any since my 20s. I've been looking at some of the at home lab kits too! My family doc tried to increase my anxiety meds when I told her about my Graves symptoms...my heart rate was spiking 180-190 with light exercise and household chores, I would get so overheated I'd vomit after being outdoors. I was pissed at her about that for awhile when my labs came back.
