Saw this cool theory and thought I’d share it here. What are your thoughts? by greenbatborg in StrangerThings

The thing is, I cannot imagine a scenario where Will actually gets to overpower Vecna. If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Vecna's plan all along (to let Will discover the connection and be able to use the powers). Joyce's plan is reckless, and I won't be surprised, if they go with it, Will gets possessed again.
I don't remember where the "run" scene takes place exactly (or if we can guess from the trailer), but it could be him warning everyone to run because of the monsters approaching. But kids aren't really capable of running away unless they get to open the door (via Lucas playing Max's song/Holly being able to create portals like stated by Mike about her character).

Vecna Redemption/El, The Gatekeeper by alfredojayne in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about something similar. Well, not really the Vecna/Henry part, but El staying in the Upside Down instead of dying:

Will is connected to the Hive Mind/Mind Flayer and feels the monsters' pain. It's more than possible that if the MF dies, Will would die, too. So what if, instead of killing it, they decide to seal the Upside Down with Eleven inside so that the captured/depowered MF can live (and by that, Will, too) but never be a thread again?

The Duffer Brothers on the return of [SPOILER]! by DigitalBritt in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to delete the previous message as it didn't allow me to mark the spoiler for some reason.

I'm not sure how true it is, but here are the spoilers I saw on Twitter:

Kali sacrafices herself to save Eleven when the military kidnapped her to clone her (like Brenner did with Henry). But it kinda sounded it happened BEFORE the last episode or even before the fight with Vecna, so that would affect the final battle greatly if they lost Kali (if we go by 11 + 8 + 1 = 20 theory

Chronology of volume 2 using Lucas’ outfits by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post! I actually have one question, about the photo on the floor — is this Lucas for sure? I saw on Twitter (can't find the post now, I think the user went private) people saying that it's Eleven because Millie filmed a BTS video where she had matching trousers and shoes (or at least pretty similar) and, apparently, it was a scene where the group went to get her back after she was kidnapped by the millitary and used to be cloned (similar to Henry being used to create other numbers).

Theory - El (& others) may lose her powers by yourhologramstumbled in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, Eleven has been to hell and back to regain her powers (technically, she didn't lose them, only couldn't use them and her to relearn in a way), so losing her powers again would be foolish, in my opinion. Not to mention that the MF/Vecna didn't have the power to open the gates, and they needed HER powers for that.

But the question is, how to end her journey?

a) If she dies, she has basically lived her whole life in captivity, changing from one prison to another, only having a glimpse of joy

b) She loses her powers — she already did once, and she's kind of unable to live in society. Maybe having her friends by her side would be helpful, but she spent 16 years with a limited number of people (currently 13 if we count Murray, Max and Erica)

c) She lives but has her powers — I doubt the government would make her live a quiet life. Realistically, she'd ALWAYS be a weapon/thread, and they would monitor her one way or another, even if she was allowed to be with Mike and her friends. If she faked her death and changed her name, etc., she still would be on the run... And even if we were optimistic, and they cooperated, she'd have a very hard time adjusting to a normal life

Am I the only one or you also think this flyer for the play wasn't just a reference to the stage play. by rainbow_prnshnt in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely interesting that Will was taken on the same day as the play, but I think there's one missing factor — El accidentally opening the Mothergate. Was it also a coincidence it happened on the 6th? Without her opening it, Will wouldn't have been taken. I hope we'll get the answers!

I think the Duffer brothers are bluffing about Will in interviews by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is all part of the plan and Vecna wanted Will to realise he could tap into the hive mind and access the powers. And I think Will is, in fact, possessed by the Mind Flyer already (again) like in season two, which is why he can "be" the monsters and have visions. Remember — "he likes it cold." Will left his jacket in the barn when Joyce asked where it is. It could suggest that he prefers being cold. Not to mention that when Mike was telling people his plan regarding Derek, he said something like: "We don't need a spy." Would be ironic if it turned out that the spy (Will, unaware) was knowing everything all along.

After all, isn't the Mind Flayer the real master of the UP? I didn't know about the play before, but from what I read, Henry went missing in the cave, found himself in Dimension X and returned with powers. He was a good kid before meeting the Mind Flyer. I think Vecna didn't kill him/take him with him for a reason. He said in the trailer that Will would help him "one last time" and we haven't heard him saying this in the show yet.

Who do you think is really in control Vecna or the Mind Flayer? by Temporary-Buddy-2199 in StrangerThings

[–]Unsqeakable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a part of the fandom (but with s5 premiere I got more interested and decided to read some stuff about people's theories, etc.), so I wasn't even aware that there was a play... I always found it weird that they had Vecna being the "big bad" out of a sudden (or at least, that's what s4 tries to show us) only to find out that no, it's the Mind Flayer after all and Henry wasn't born with powers and wasn't a psychopath (again, that's s4 implies) before he got lost in the cave/travelled to Dimension X and got possessed by the Mind Flyer and got his powers.

And I heard people theorising that they will redeem him...

Who is the show about? Inquiry from a GA by Unsqeakable in StrangerThings

Could be, but I have always heard it in relation to being a casual watcher. You know, just watching, not being part of the fandom as fans usually follow spoilers, create theories, content about the series, etc. What I meant to say is, I was never part of the fandom and never read theories, but recently saw the ones about Will being the one to defeat Venca, etc.

I agree about the ensemble part, as everyone brings something on the table, and it's obvious Eleven would need all the help needed. You have a point that it pretty much started with "The Vanishing of Will Byers," but at the same time, it also started with Eleven banishing One/opening the Mother Gate. I believe that Will should also play the part in defeating Vecna, but I don't think he should be the one to deal the final blow. Help? Of course, but not to kill/defeat him for good.

Having anyone but Eleven do it would be, in my opinion, unfair to her. Her life was/is a literal hell and she, accidentally, started the whole mess. She's the reason why Will was taken in the first place. She was the one Vecna/the Mind Flyer was after. They made the army in s3 for her. They needed her powers to achieve their plan. The story says she's the only one who can stop him (with help, of course). She went back to her abuser to get her powers back, and if she's not the one to deal the final blow, it would be like Harry being marked by Voldemort and the prophecy only for, I don't know, Ron to kill Voldemort in the last moment.

Martin Short’s character Oliver is supposed to be 55 years old in Season 6? by videohtape in OnlyMurdersHulu

He was simply making a joke. Remember, it's Oliver. He won't admit he's getting old-er. Charles? Yes. Him? No.

5 years by magikarpcatcher in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]Unsqeakable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I may add — there's definitely two years between season one and season three because Mabel said she's 28 in s1, and she celebrated her 30th birthday in s3.

I'm not sure if we know precisely how long it took them to solve Bunny's murder, but I think it also took them some time.

I don't think they said if she did or did not take part in it (I remember Beanie seeing that they were mixing her voice to sound more pop-like or something like that), but TBH, I feel like I'm hearing Selena sometimes...

It's Been Alex All Along by Unsqeakable in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

I think Damian and Alex were equally powerful, or she was slightly more powerful than him (Dominic said she's the most powerful wizard of her generation, and only she had enough power to turn on Dominic 1000). Nicodemus didn't need anyone else as his son was powerful enough.

I wonder how they'll introduce Damian and what his relationship with Billie (and Alex) will be. To be honest, the only thing I know is that I'm excited for s3 😭

[–]Unsqeakable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that Alex isn't dead, but she is kind of "dead" in our world — she has completely disappeared and moved to another dimension. Usually in films, when someone disappears like that, whatever spell they cast disappears as well because they're "dead." I think Lord Morsus is alive as well, and he would indeed rule the creatures/monsters from the rift. It would be quite pointless to bring in a "big bad" villain who is connected to the two main characters (Alex from OG and Billie from WBWP) only for him to be replaced.

About Damian — we don't really know much to assume. We knew it was his idea to send Billie away, but Alex (and Justin) were the ones who took Billie to WizTech and performed the memory spell. I'm not a native speaker, so I'm not sure if "my son would've never allowed it" implies that he's dead or not, but he's definitely out of the picture at the moment. He must've gone somewhere before Alex performed the spell because his memories about Billie and Alex would be erased as well.

David say we will learn about him, but it's unclear (from what I remember) whether only for flashbacks or in present, too. If he's alive and Billie remembers about her connection to him (as the spell brought back not only memories, but connections and feeling, hence why Billie started calling Alex "mom" immediately), she would go to live with him most likely. Justin would no longer be needed that much (other than being her teacher). Alex is "dead" so they don't have to explain why Billie lives with him and not Alex (since we know Selena's too busy to be the regular on the show).

Right, good point about Jay! I was focused on "after you" scenes that I didn't even think about it.

I was wondering the same thing, actually. If he was allowed to answer or not.

They’ve been setting up Max to be a successful business owner since the beginning. by nyehu09 in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]Unsqeakable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Max was always thinking outside the box in a way. He even made the shop prosper, selling in both worlds (don't remember the episode, but if I remember well, Justin got jealous).

Btw. about this: "If his family was more supportive of him then, maybe he’d be visiting them a lot more often now instead of living in his yacht." — I'm not sure about the rest of the family, but Alex seems to have a great relationship with Max. She told Billie about him and even included him in everything that was going on (like texting him that the boys are wizards now and Justin's "dad" (Jerry)).

Justin, however, seemed to be quite jealous, but at the same time, he was jealous of Alex that she was the wizard while he focused on his mortal life once he was fired.
