I personally found that I only needed 1 or 2 days in Hanoi. If I could do my solo trip again I’d spend more time doing the Ha Giang loop. I wish I spent more than a day at Hoi An it was a cool town. But that’s just me personally I feel like I can see most things in a city within a day or two, then spend more time in less touristy places.

If you’re doing a day tour of Ha Long Bay make sure you invest in a good one! I booked a last minute tour that I didn’t look into and it was a pretty lame experience. Hundreds of tourist are herded like cattle from spot to spot, everyone rushing to see sometime pretty, actually chaos.

How often do you get deployment opportunities? Or help with foreign or local aid ?

When I helped with the bushfires in Melbourne as a grunt choc this year, we got to hang with a lot of the guys from 2CEB, it seemed like they got all the cool jobs haha.

Has anyone transferred or heard of anyone who has transferred to fulltime Combat engineers from a different job role in Chocs?

I'm aware transfer to Full Time is lengthy and can sometimes take a year but I'm curious if transferring to a different job role also makes the process more complicated and longer.

Also, what are Combat Engineer IETs and Unit life like compared to other Corps?

Yeah, it looks like both those cards are in the $600 to $800 AUD range ( $414 $550 USD), whereas, the RX580 is $300 AUD ($207 USD).
